GTA IV thief has real-life police pursuit

Police cars and helicopter pursue man after game store robbery

A man in San Diego, California engaged in a real-life Grand Theft Auto IV police chase yesterday, after nicking three copies of the game from the local game shop.

Dennis Richard Fiel, 27, entered his local GameStop in Mira Mesa at about 10:30 a.m. and sprayed employees with Mace, before running off with three copies of GTA IV.

Fiel immediately gained three stars, and police were in hot pursuit both on the ground and from a helicopter, chasing the white Toyota pickup truck he used to flee the crime scene.

He was eventually captured at a Japanese BBQ restaurant, where he surrendered to police. Busted.

Stealing GTA IV isn't considered a grand theft, but this bloke probably isn't happy with his felony robbery charges, we imagine.
