PS3 - Gran Turismo HD - Whatever Happened To Gran Turismo HD's DLC Model? Kotaku writes:

"When we visited Gran Turismo creators Polyphony Digital in 2006, president Kazunori Yamauchi previewed what would become Gran Turismo HD, the first "real driving simulation" for the PlayStation 3 that would offer 770 cars and 50 tracks for download.

At the time, Yamauchi called it "the GT version of iTunes," letting players buy the barebones Gran Turismo HD Classic, the download more than 5,000 pieces of content to expand upon the game. That idea was scrapped in favor of a freely downloadable Gran Turismo HD and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue."

PS3 - Gran Turismo HD - Kazunori Yamauchi talks about Gran Turismo 5 Kazunori Yamauchi talks about car damage (some cars will have it, some won't), Xmas 2008 release for GT5 (not GT5 Prologue), how he would be frustrated with the Wii, and that the 360 to him is not a true full HD console.

Regarding Damage:

-They are testing car damage, but they have to reach a compromise. He put as example after the curve in Daytona, touching with the back of the car against the laterals can literally destroy the car, because it reaches a force of 150G! Yamauchi doesn't want to destroy cars like that, but he understands that fans want car damage, because it's part of reality. Some car makers don't mind car damage, others forbid it, so there will be cars with damage and cars without damage.

PS3 - Gran Turismo HD - Flow Creator: Game Creativity Having taken advantage of the openings made available by user generated content, a number of talented young developers are turning their backs on mainstream gaming in a bid to broaden the scope of the industry.

Flow co-creator Jenova Chen believes that games need to offer an emotional outlet often lacking in popular genres such as shooters and racing games.

"Right now video games are focused on releasing anger and stress...that's really limited. If you want a deeper understanding of life, you aren't going to get it from a video game."
