The pic where Yamauchi is holding a GT5 package only shows ONE case being the actual game - the black one. You can clearly see the top case is a Gran Turismo 5 case. You can tell because you can see the Japanese CERO rating (like our American ESRB), and the transparent white PS3 case, with the new PS3 logo. And the bottom two look like instruction booklets, or car booklets that detail all of the cars featured in the game (this is something Polyphony has done many times in the past).

That's all it is. Three Blu-Rays this will NOT be.

Top Gear's greatest driving road in the world looks like it will be making an appearance in Gran Turismo 5.

So not only will Top Gear's test track be included in Polyphony Digital's eventual Gran Turismo 5 release, the show's greatest driving road in the world, the Stelvio Pass, may also be making an appearance.

Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond went on a search for their fantasy driving road at the beginning of the 10th series, arriving at the glorious Stelvio Pass.

This road, located in Italy, is the highest mountain pass in the Eastern Alps at almost 2800 meters.

So what makes us think that the Stelvio Pass will be featured as one of Gran Turismo 5's seventy tracks?

gtplanet.net : We've got another new interview with Kazunori Yamauchi via GameBlog.fr, and while it's not as personal or as thorough as Xavier Ocampo's, it does produce two interesting and encouraging statements. First, he reiterates the updated damange modeling in Gran Turismo 5 - reinforcing my personal suspicion that negative reactions to the damage shown off at GamesCom was the primary decision for a 2010 release. On the subject of release dates, Yamauchi confirms that is a decision in the hands of Sony Computer Entertainment, since "both versions [PAL and NTSC, presumably] will be finished at the same time".

GZ: Polyphony Digital desperately feels the pressure from Sony to release Gran Turismo 5.

Gran Turismo 5 has been in development for five years now, and although Polyphony Digital has released GT:HD, GT5 Prologue and GT PSP in that time, it's still been a hell of a wait for what many expect to be the definitive racing game of this generation.

We had expected the game to release at the end of 2009, since all the signs were pointing to that release period. However, at the Tokyo Games Show, Sony announced that the game would be getting a March 2010 release in Japan, and a slightly later release in the US and Europe.

In an interview the studio's head Kazunori Yamauchi reveals that the pressure from Sony to release the game has at times been unbearable.

Polyphony's Kazunori Yamauchi states that gamers should expect perfection for Gran Turismo 5's damage system.

Polyphony Digital had already made it clear that the Gran Turismo 5 damage system on show at GamesCom and the Tokyo Games Show was unfinished, but many still felt disappointed by the limited nature of the damage.

It's of course true that not all car models will feature realistic damage, with many of the road cars only being subjected to light scuffs and scrapes. But when it comes to the rally and NASCAR racing cars, the PlayStation 3 studio is keen to implement full damage. What that means, has previously been unclear.

However, the studio's head is confident enough to state his desire to achieve perfection.

We thought French website JVN.com may have been a little bit snap happy with their exclusive GT5 reveals yesterday. After their visit to Polyphony Digital, they wrote that GT5 would be getting a day & night cycle, and rain.

The BitBag: I got this tip from Bitbag fan Pixelsword. If you haven't heard, someone from Microsoft was posting on Neogaf about Forza 3. A Neogaf admin pointed out that the poster had a Microsoft email address (I didn't agree with this tactic as information on users is supposed to remain private). It's been delayed so much, we almost didn't believe it when we discovered that Gran Turismo 5 - NOT Prologue, but the actual sequel - was playable on the Gamescom show floor.

First the good news; the game's release date is listed as December 2009. The bad news is that the date comes from Amazon.com
