Sony announced a March release for Gran Turismo 5 at Tokyo Game Show last week, a release window that was specifically targeted for the Japanese market. However, don't expect a surprise 2009 release (sorry Amazon!). "I don't think it's going to be that different for US and Europe," Polyphony Digital head Kazunori Yamauchi told journalists at a GT5 event last week. "Marketing is still discussing their issues," which is the reason why a specific date hasn't been pegged yet for those markets.
GZ: It has once again been confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 will feature a day and night cycle, as well as a weather system.
After spending some hands-on time with the Gran Turismo 5 demo at the Tokyo Game Show, IGN editors got the chance to speak with a "Sony rep" who was able to clarify some of the questions about the differences in vehicular damage.
At the Tokyo Game Show held starting Thursday, September 24, Kazunori Yamauchi, creator and producer of the Gran Turismo franchise, revealed a list of features to be included in Gran Turismo 5. Main features include over 950 cars, 20 course locations with 70 layouts, and a new physics engine with roll-over, damage, and more. Additionally, Yamauchi highlighted the ability for players to carry over unlocked cars in Gran Turismo for PSP, launching October 1, 2009, into Gran Turismo 5 when it launches, giving players a chance to get a head start on Gran Turismo 5 via Gran Turismo for PSP.
"People who have been looking forward to GT5 since soon after GT4 hit the shelves were sure to be slightly disappointed by today's news that the title wasn't going to land in Japan until March 2010.

There is a rumor going on that BMW ( Bayerische Motoren Werke) the German automobile, motorcycle and engine manufacturing company that is known for its performance and luxury vehicles will feature every series from past, present, and future in Gran Turismo 5 including prototypes and concepts. So does the Vision Efficientdynamics count? We hope so.
