SCEA will return to the Rock Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this week and promises to deliver fans a first look at three highly anticipated PS3 titles, SingStar, LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, inside two fully interactive entertainment tents.

SingStar and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will share an interactive booth. The SingStar portion will feature a stage where fans can perform in front of a live audience. You will be able to view new downloadable songs online at the SingStore which will be available for the game when it releases across North America on the 20th of May. "I got my copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for the PS3 today. I've been anxiously awaiting this title for a while, as I've been a huge fan of the series and racing games in general. So when I put the game in my PS3, I was more than ready to race. Here's a breakdown of what happened:

9:24pm - Loaded the game, started the install process
9:37pm - Install ended (13 minutes total, using 5349MB)
9:38pm - Began downloading the game update
9:42pm - Error occurred during download, had to start over
9:44pm - Began downloading the game update¿ again
9:51pm - Update finished, needed to hold the PS button to quit the game
9:52pm - Restart game, going through menus
9:53pm - Begin car shopping (you have to buy a car first with the 35k credits you have before you can race)
10:01pm - Bought car after looking for a while for what I can afford (settled on Mazda RX-8)
10:07pm - Finally finished first single player race (2:52 total race time)

So as you can see, if you get the Blu-Ray version of the game, it's going to take you an absurd amount of time sitting there doing nothing waiting to actually play the game. Seriously, this is just ridiculous. It took 40 minutes before I was able to actually play the game."

Nissan recently showed off the highly anticipated GT-R to eager North American journalists at the Reno-Fernley Raceway, giving them the opportunity to put the GT-R through its paces on the Nevada racetrack. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has retained its number one chart position in Germany and Spain, according to sales information from Media-Control GfK International. Sony's racer held off opposition from Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath and Wii Play to stay at the top for the week ending April 6.

In Germany, the Command & Conquer 3 expansion took second place, with Brain Training and the Nintendo DS edition of Mario & Sonic at the Olympics taking third and fourth places.

It's been over three years since we first sighed 'awwwe' to Polyphony Digital's plans to develop a kindly, gentler racing simulation with the kid-friendly Gran Turismo for Boys. Now series mastermind Kazunori Yamauchi has come forward about the project, and in a recent CVG interview commented that Gran Turismo for Boys is still coming, though perhaps as an included feature in Gran Turismo 5 rather than a standalone game.

Gran Turismo for Boys was first revealed in November 2004 by Yamauchi as a way to hook preteens on cars, sort of like candy cigarettes, but since then there's been little said about the effort beyond the occasional footnote to let the world know that the project hadn't been run over. Tykes shouldn't get too excited yet, however, as Yamauchi admits that his team is currently spinning wheels working on GT5, and have little time to spend on side projects. Still, with the game's release about a year off maybe he'll find time to include the child dedicated feature -- and keep us from throwing a tantrum.

Gamespot writes: "Fans of Gran Turismo can sleep easy at night; the PlayStation's quintessential driving game is in safe hands. Gran Turismo's creator and producer, Kazunori Yamauchi, spoke candidly with GameSpot UK today at Sony's Three Rooms venue in Central London about Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and the long-awaited Gran Turismo 5, and reconfirmed that a PlayStation Portable version of the game and the mysterious Gran Turismo for Boys are still in the works.

When asked what's next for the Gran Turismo following GT5 Prologue's European launch, Yamauchi said that, "first off, GT5 prologue is only at the halfway point to its completion. So in the next update there will be many more features added to the game. From that point to Gran Turismo 5, there's just going to be a lot more quantity in terms of cars and of the tracks as well."

GameSpot asked if the development of GT5 Prologue meant a longer wait for the eventual Gran Turismo 5, and Yamauchi answered, 'This is true, but creating games on the PS3 is so much more difficult than we imagined at first and it took us three years to get here, and I hope our fans understand that we're trying our best and will be moving forward [on GT5] from here on.'"

The latest European sales numbers at VGChartz for "the week ending March 29, 2008? show that exactly 374,607 Blu-Ray copies of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue have been sold. Considering that the game was released in Europe on March 28, those sales numbers could only apply to the two single days that it was available on store shelves. This, of course, is in addition to the one million European pre-orders and does not include the number of times the game has been purchased via PSN.
