Just moments after Logitech officially announced the new Driving Force GT for PS3, we rushed over to Sony and gave it a spin. An observer casually noted, "isn't it nice to have rumble on the PS3?" We'd have to agree with this sentiment -- but the Driving Force GT offers much more than just rumble.

The wheel feels incredibly sturdy, and offers a surprising amount of resistance when making turns, crashing into walls, and more. The force offered by the wheel rivals those found in arcade cabinets. The wheel makes Gran Turismo 5 feel like a completely different game. Playing in cockpit mode with the controller is incredibly immersive. With wheel in hand, this does feel like the "real driving simulator" that GT promises to be.

While the wheel is impressive, we were a bit underwhelmed by the pedals, which lack the heft that makes the wheel so impressive. The pedals need a bit more resistance to feel a bit more realistic, and need to be heavier, so they don't move forward so much. Regardless, we're impressed by this incredible effort of bringing home an arcade experience. Considering the asking price ($150), Logitech needed to make a high quality peripheral. We think they succeeded.

In a press release regarding the Logitech Driving Force GT the Gran Turismo 5: Prologue release date for Europe has finally been nailed down.

The driving simulator will be available on both a Blu-Ray disc at retail and as a PlayStation Network download on March 28th. That's just under three weeks before America receives it on April 17th.

"Sony's been pretty good at consistently releasing new videos and screens for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, but now the game has a new official website where gamers can go to find all the information they need and maybe more, not only about the newest entry into the popular racing series, but also about the previous games, as well.

The website currently has a heaping helping of screens, videos and news, but Sony promised us that it will "continuously update [the] site as [it] get ready for the title's launch in April and beyond." Sony has told Eurogamer it's aiming for a late March release for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, with an exact date and price are still to be confirmed

The news comes on the heels of fresh speculation from a "release schedule" that apparently listed the game as coming out on 28th March, priced at GBP 24.99.

Sony has previously said GT5 Prologue will be out in the US on 17th April. However European plans are still being worked out.

Your first real taste of next-gen GT is coming in March. At least, according to amazon.com and GameStop. Both retailers have pre-orders for the upcoming disc version of Prologue -- and for $40. Ask any Gran Turismo 5 Prologue player what's missing from the GT5 sampler, and they'll likely answer with Moon Over the Castle. The franchise theme song didn't make it into the Prologue version, suggesting that we'd have to wait until the real GT5 release before hearing it again.

Today, IGN learned that this won't be the case. The new version of the theme song, titled Moon Over The Castle GT5 Prologue Version, will be included in an upcoming soundtrack for the game which was announced today in Japan. The theme song was newly recorded in Los Angeles.

Set for Japanese release on February 20, the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Original Game Soundtrack will include a total of 18 tracks. Village Music will publish the soundtrack, which will retail for pre-tax 2,200 yen.

Ostensibly an improved demo version of the highly anticipated game, the prologue version will include as many as many 50 meticulously detailed cars - including vehicles by Ferrari, Lotus and Nissan.
