Play.com are reporting that GT5 orders placed after the 25th of March can not be sent on time - due to the game being completely sold out! As one of the biggest Sony franchises there is, GT5 can only mean good things for the PS3 going forward.

SONY has now officially confirmed that the preorders for GT5 prologue has indeed hit 1 million in europe alone. This is what PS3Fanboy is reporting after the surfacing of various reports today claiming that the million preorders were for both europe and north america combined :-

PS3Fanboy reports that Takau Imasaki, producer for Gran Turismo 5 at SCEA, recently talked a bit about the game and what's going on in the minds of Sony. The game is meant to be more user-friendly for the Western audience. Prologue is meant more to serve as a testing ground for the developers on creating the best online functionality possible, built through user-feedback and the experience of releasing one "game" before the full title. They're trying to catch up to Microsoft in that regard, they said. Car damage? It's coming, they said, but probably not in this first batch of games, we would imagine. Also, there won't be that much downloadable content, but perhaps a little.
In an email sent to customers, GAME, a leading retailer of video games, has confirmed Gran Turismo 5 won't be released this year, with European PlayStation 3 gamers having to wait until 2009.
