In an interview with GamePro, Eat Sleep Play co-founders David Jaffe and Scott Campbell say that a hint to the studio's next game is hidden in Twisted Metal: Head On.

In an interview with GamePro, Jaffe explained: "Listen, if you want to know what our next game is, it's absolutely revealed if you have a sharp eye in Twisted Metal Head On: Extreme Edition. It's hidden really, really, really well. And just because it's hidden in Twisted Metal doesn't mean it has anything to do with Twisted Metal. That's why it's so well hidden. It's a really cryptic riddle we put in there."

Jaffe and Campbell also sounded off on several other topics, including: God of War 3's development, those "one standardized console" comments, Calling All Cars, Eat Sleep Play's design focus.

"For me, the whole departure from Sony was not exactly the ideal route that I wanted to go, but in the end I think it is the absolute best thing I could have ever done. I am not going to go into any specifics as to what it is I am working on now, which sucks, but I can say that I am cooking up several things.

I know for the God of War fans out there it might be a bummer that I am not working on God of War 3 (or for some it may be a good thing I am not) but rest assured that it is all in good hands. The Sony Santa Monica team is one of the best teams I have ever worked with. Also, immediately after I finished God of War 2 I was already working on the story and design for the third game. So when Sony and I finally did part ways the foundation of the game, along with story that completes the arc we began in God of War , was complete. I wish I could have been there to see it through to the end, but it was just not meant to be I guess. The story is going to finish off with a very big, very epic bang though. I think everyone will be quite pleased. Well, everyone except edge magazine that is. :)"

The Rumour: Take Two released its results for the fourth quarter of its financial year. Missing on a forecast for titles for 2008 is Rockstar's LA Noire, causing people to believe that the secretive title won't be out until 2009.

Verdict: While it's true that the game is missing from the forecast, Rockstar's financial year runs from November 1st to October 31st, meaning LA Noire could still see a release in November or December 2008.

Destructoid reports: "Sony's Santa Monica studio is auctioning off a chance for someone to become a videogame designer for the day. The winner of the auction will be able to bring along one guest and they will get a tour of the studio. The winners will also get a first hand look at the next game the Santa Monica studio is making for the PlayStation 3 (God of War III?!). All of the proceeds from the auction will be going to Big Brothers Big Sisters. The auction is currently at $375 and will end this coming Wednesday.

In March, Sony Computer Entertainment America held a lavish launch party in San Francisco for God of War II. In the course of the celebrations, Cory Barlog, the game's outspoken director, dropped some none-too-subtle hints that the series would be coming to the PlayStation 3 along with force feedback.

1UP just received word that SCEA Santa Monica game director Cory Barlog, best known for his work on God of War II, will soon leave the studio to pursue other opportunities.

"We can confirm that Cory Barlog, game director for God of War II, is leaving the SCEA SM Studio and we are grateful for his work and creative vision for the critically acclaimed God of War franchise," says a Sony spokesperson. "Moving forward, we are confident in the God of War team, as they are an extremely talented group of people that are passionate about the franchise and dedicated to creating even more epic content with God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PSP and God of War III for PS3."

Notably, this statement also provides the first instance of Sony saying the words "God of War III" in public.

Another month, another batch of rumors from EGM's Quatermann.

You know, even though Sony hasn't announced God of War 3, it's coming. In fact, it was already sort of announced. Anyway, the folks at SCEA Santa Monica are already hard at work at preparing Kratos' debut on PlayStation 3, which should arrive during the next holiday season, joined by a little something called Gears of War 2, as well.

Epic Games and Microsoft haven't confirmed Gears of War 2 either, but the game's stellar sales (not to mention the cliffhanger ending) is confirmation enough.
