At a media presentation earlier this week, Sony announced that they will reveal a release date for God of War 3 at E3 in June. Yes, it's kind of silly that we're reporting on when an announcement will be made rather than the announcement itself, but it's God of War 3, so this story exists.

We've heard a lot of rumors that the game will hit in early 2010, with many guessing that a March release makes sense, since all previous God of War games have shipped in March. If true, that would mean the team at Sony's Santa Monica studio will have had three years to complete the game -- with a splinter team working on technology for even longer -- which is a pretty substantial amount of time, and equal to how long God of War 1 took to make.

Expectations for God of War III are high, and the game's director Stig Asmussen has some tough shoes to fill, including those of David Jaffe's, creative mind behind not only the original God of War title but also the Twisted Metal franchise. And if that alone wasn't enough, Asmussen has only worked on two games previously - in the art department for the first two God of War titles.

"Sony Computer Entertainment Santa Monica is seeking an online gameplay programmer to join the team behind the critically acclaimed AAA titles God of War and God of War II," says the advert.

God of War III is less than a year away from hitting alpha... now that's scary. I had a relaxing time off during the new years and almost back on track with working and working on my personal stuff. 1UP write: Fresh off a new trailer at the Spike Video Game Awards, the God of War 3 hype machine is slowly getting up to speed. Next up is a special 'sneak preview' in Los Angeles.

We've received word that more information about that "highly-anticipated conclusion to the Greek action-adventure odyssey" will be revealed February 10. At a minimum, we expect that there will be another trailer and new gameplay details.

The Hong Kong PlayStation Store website has a habit of featuring future LittleBigPlanet DLC before it is announced. The upcoming January 2009 DLC for LittleBigPlanet is no exception.

Now, those in the US had the opportunity to get the Kratos costume via pre-order and PSLS is not sure if we'd get the Pipo Monkey from the Ape Escape series... but they are indeed listed on the official PlayStation website for release on January 26, 2009.

Anyone else hopeful to get a God of War level pack similar to the MGS pack?
