Last Friday, SCEA shocked a lot of people when they confirmed their 2009 line up, including titles like MAG and God of War III, two titles enthusiasts have heard very little about. Earlier today, however, Sony sent out a new press release in regards to it's annual retailer and publisher Destination PlayStation conference that contradicts that statement. Though it mainly concerned new software and hardware bundle news for the PSP, it did briefly mention the same '2009 line up' mentioned in it's previous press release.
Insomniac, the team behind Uncharted and Ratchet have been sharing know-how and tips with the God of War team on the up and coming smash hit.
God of War has traditionally arrived earlier in the year than later, with the original and God of War 2 arriving at the beginning of their respective years. God of War 3 might break that tradition though.
Killzone 2 finally comes out this Friday. Now that we will all be able to bask in it's glory, it's time to focus on the other great titles that will grace the PS3 exclusively this year.
The Playstation 3 Guys report: "I came across two rather interesting job listings on Gamasutra.com that pertained to God of War III. Could these job listings be proof that unlike what Sony is reporting, that GOW III won't be released until 2010?"
SCEA this morning sent out a little media alert concerning their upcoming PlayStation 3 lineup. And hey, there may be an interesting little tidbit in there for everyone looking forward to God of War III, Zipper Interactive's MAG and Heavy Rain.

Fan response to the news was not positive, which is why you'll be happy to hear that Ratner is no longer pursuing the film.

Gamezine: As new God of War III information and media start to trickle in, original God of War developer David Jaffe is getting nervous.
At a media presentation earlier this week, Sony announced that they will reveal a release date for God of War 3 at E3 in June. Yes, it's kind of silly that we're reporting on when an announcement will be made rather than the announcement itself, but it's God of War 3, so this story exists.
Expectations for God of War III are high, and the game's director Stig Asmussen has some tough shoes to fill, including those of David Jaffe's, creative mind behind not only the original God of War title but also the Twisted Metal franchise. And if that alone wasn't enough, Asmussen has only worked on two games previously - in the art department for the first two God of War titles.
