Gauntlet II - PS3 Network

The PS3 is receiving another slice of retro this week, as Gauntlet II prepares to unleash its fantasy action on the console. Releasing through PlayStation Network, the game should be available tomorrow at a cost of $4.99. Gauntlet II, of course, is an updated version of the original Gauntlet, with up to four players running around battering monsters. Ported from the original coin-op by the guys at Backbone Entertainment, Gauntlet II brings Thyra the Valkyrie, Questor the Elf, Thor the Warrior, and Merlin the Wizard back to action for 100-plus levels of retro goblin bashing. All four players can choose the same character type while stages have been improved with invisible walls and the option to become it (being it draws enemy characters towards your position).
