We're surprised it took this long for the merchandised crap machine to squeeze this one out, but this licensed "kartz" racer is as by the numbers and lifeless as you'd expect. On the plus side, you can race as Shrek!

A kart racing with lots of customization options, ModNation Racers empowers the player to personalize their entire game.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing

Oy vey. Sonic and all his Sega buddies go where many mascots have gone before, the kart racer. It will feature such luminaries as Samba de Amigo, Ai Ai and Tails.

Dirt 2 plunders the best bits from two great racing series to create what is essentially Colin McRae: GRID. The quality is so high, you'll wonder how your console is doing this at all, let alone so seamlessly. A racing classic that does Colin McRae's memory justice.

Don't buy this. It's repetitive, uninspired garbage and a waste of money. Its sole claim to fame is blatantly copying the cover to a much better Baja game at the same time.

Need for Speed SHIFT

NFS is reborn as a series with more emphasis on driving with a slight sim edge to it and with less emphasis on campy cutscenes. And with stunning visuals the gamble paid off.

Considering how many times it’s changed hands, we’re quite surprised there’s another MotoGP game at all. It’s genuinely exciting, slick and well-presented even though it won’t be ‘sim’ enough for some.
