The story behind there being no Formula One game on the PS3 this year. Sony had a five year deal to produce the official F1 game. The license fee was $15 million per year and the deal ran out with the 2007 version. Here's why it hasn't been renewed.

Formula 1 CE is the greatest F1 game ever, but one detail made it unplayable with a wheel: the lack of force feedback. Finally Sony updated the game and gave it force feedback support! Driving simulator fans must get this game now, it's awesome like it should have been since day 1. Better late than never. To update just connect to the internet and run the game.

Formula One Championship Edition for the Playstation 3 has received update 1.10 that adds the force feedback ability to controllers and force feedback compatible racing wheels.

Electronic Arts has just stroke a deal with Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton amounting to a whopping five million GBP or roughly around US$ 10.40 million. The publication added that the driver will be featured on Xbox and PlayStations around the world next year.

Following the successful PlayStation 3 starter pack containing a ps3 console, Resistance Fall of Man, MotorStorm and two Sixaxis, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe intends to renew the experiment with a second Pack planned for September 19 at the cost of 599.99 euros. This new pack will contain a PS3 ,2 sixaxis controllers and two new additional games as well ,namely Heavenly Sword and Formula One.Stay tune for an official conformation maybe at next weeks Leipzig Games Convention in Germany...

GamesRadar UK had been playing loads of PS3 since its European release last month (well, before that too) and that includes the almost-as-real-as-you-are Formula One: Championship Edition. The game may not have received great reviews, but it's still been PS3's third best-selling game in the UK so far and some of the more "petrolhead" members of the GamesRadar UK team really love it.
