Final Fantasy XIII a long way off

Square in very early stages of development, it reveals at a Sony event earlier today

You've trashed through Final Fantasy XII and put the PS2 to bed, and now you're looking for some FF action on your shiny new PS3, but you've got a while to wait.

Square Enix had little to say about the next episode of the epic RPG series at Sony's PlayStion Premier show in Tokyo earlier, only revealing that it's a mere 13 percent into the game's development.

The parallel game, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, is even further off, sitting at 1.3 percent in the making at the moment, according to IGN.

They'd better get cracking because the Tokyo Game Show is coming up soon and we're hoping to see more of the FFXIII there. Fingers crossed...
