GiantBomb: Square Enix blew a lot of minds at last year's E3 with the announcement that Final Fantasy XIII would hit the Xbox 360 day and date with the PlayStation 3 in North America. But the company didn't start working on a 360 version of the hotly anticipated RPG till shortly before this year's E3. Longtime series producer Yoshinori Kitase had this to say at the show last week when I asked how the game's cross-platform development is going.
SCRAWL: "I'm not sure from which Japanese magazine exactly that these scans come from, but there sure is a load of them. The new Final Fantasy XIII scans that have just been sent our way probably reveal a ton of information, which we can't read, but there's a lot of screenshots to be seen as well as what looks to be a new summon (pictured above)."
A great new feature that was just revealed at E3 is that not only can you call up your summons creatures in FFXIII , you can also ride them. Snow's summon is Shiva, and the interesting thing about this summon is that it's actually composed of two different people.
Examiner: "Not much information has been shared on the gameplay front of Final Fantasy XIII. We know how the battle system works and general idea of most of the gameplay aspects. However, we still don't know how the summons will work; at least not entirely.
Final Fantasy XIII is due in Japan later this year. And in North America during Spring, 2010. But when can Europeans (and by extension, Australians) get their hands on it?
A keen-eyed journo at E3 spots something during the PS3 demo of Final Fantasy XIII that adds more fuel to the debate of whether FFXIII supports 1080p.

Final Fantasy XIII's development is currently at the 60% complete mark, Yoshinori Kitase revealed to Dengeki Online yesterday during an interview following Microsoft's E3 press conference. The two also discussed some of the changes to the game's battle system from the recent demo.

It's identical to the PS3 demo released with Advent Children Complete but it's in full English, including English voice acting being heard for the first time.

E3 2008 was massive for Square Enix. They didn't announce any new games, or wow anyone with new trailers for their highly anticipated games. However, they did drop the bomb that Final Fantasy XIII would no longer be exclusive to the PlayStation 3, as it would also be appearing on the Xbox 360.

Electronic Theatre has today received confirmation of the finer details of the forthcoming European release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. Arriving in stores on 27th July, 2009, European Final Fantasy fans will not be receiving the same generously packaged demo of the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy XIII.
In a meeting with Japanese press to discuss their financial forecast, Square Enix Holdings were quizzed about both Dragon Quest IX, and Final Fantasy XIII. Both are obviously huge titles from an investors standpoint, and the answers given weren't exactly endearing.
Square Enix have just announced some new products relating to Final Fantasy XIII, in the form of a pendant and lighter. It appears that Snow's arm marking actually bears some kind of significant, since that's what the pendant and lighter has been made to signify.
From The Site...According to Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase, the Xbox 360 version of the eagerly awaited RPG may only include English voiceovers due to its limited storage capacity per disc – the PlayStation 3 release, however, is not affected by such constraints thanks to Blu-ray.
