A digicam image has surfaced on the internet and is quickly making its rounds through Japanese blogs and 2channel.
Presumably from Weekly Shonen Jump, the focus is heavy on the white-haired boy seen in the E3 2009 trailer. The article states that his name is Hope Estheim.
According to the details revealed about him, his weapon is a boomerang. There's also a bit of friction between himself and Snow, following the events occurring in the demo when Hope's mother falls from a ruined bridge. To add to that, a point is made about his short temper. Also mentioned is how he hugs Vanille.

Examiner.com writes:
"The pre-order business is always amusing. Even before the game publishers have released final pricing and release dates, retailers both offline and online are more than happy to take your money anyway.
Cue the videogame retail giant that is Gamestop, now taking pre-orders at an expected price of $59.99. What's surprising (aside from their Rubber Ducky Wii bundle) is the decidedly unexpected humor present in their disclaimer."

One of the voice actresses for Final Fantasy XIII has confirmed that recording for the game wrapped this week on her online blog.
The actress writes about how the script of the game took a year to record but now the dub is finally finished.
A finished dub means all story elements are now set in stone and Square Enix translators can get down to the hard work of translating the game to English and finishing the English voice work which has already begun and was showcased at E3 2009.
All the elements are falling into place - FF13 is on track for release in Japan before the end of the year.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com, Kitase dispelled that myth. He said: "The team is targeting to create an equal experience on both the 360 and the PS3, so there are no limitations. For example, right now we're working on the PS3 version first, and once we've completed that we'll really know how much game there will be to fit onto the Xbox 360 discs.
