Fight Night Round 3 offers up some impressive features for boxing fans, not the least of which are a roster of past and present boxing greats, including Muhammad Ali, Jake LaMotta, Oscar de La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins. For those wanting to re-enact classic rivalries, the ESPN Classic mode lets you tear it up with two giants of the ring, complete with era-appropriate color; the Robinson-LaMotta match is in sepia, for example, while the Ali-Frazier fight looks like '70s film stock. Interestingly, the giant Dodge and Everlast logos remain the same no matter what era you're fighting in.

Of course, you're free to build your own legend in Career Mode, stepping into the shoes of one of the greats or creating your own hideous boxer from scratch. The character-creation setup is nice and detailed (if a little slow to load), and the training sequences between fights enable you to gradually take your boxer from pencil-neck to titan.
