While Get in the Ring mode is strictly limited to one-off exhibition matches, you'll be able to set it as your default view, whether you're re-enacting a historic rivalry in ESPN Classic mode or taking a custom-made boxer to the top in Career Mode. (The training minigames are still in third-person, though.) The only disappointing thing about the new perspective is that it makes extremely limited use of the Sixaxis controller's motion-sensitivity; snapping it forward busts out an illegal blow, but that's the extent of it.

Still, Fight Night Round 3 is looking staggeringly impressive ahead of its impending release - no surprise, given that the developers had nearly a year to beef it up from the already-amazing 360 version. Expect a full review when the game hits stores on Dec. 5.
