FIFA is brilliant for forgetting real football and rewriting history, as those of us who spend hours holding back the tears and replaying England’s highest profile disasters can attest (Germany ’96, Argentina ’98 and - ooof - Portugal 2006). And with FIFA 10’s My Live Season, you can do it every week, replaying the fixtures of your favourite team, and powering them to the top of the league with Stalinist fervour. ...

PS3 Fanboy writes: "You've got to wonder exactly what these publishers are thinking. In America, particularly, there are a silly amount of games coming out this week. With Metal Gear Solid 4's imminent release next week, these titles may well suffer as a result. Still, at least the very small percentage of PS3 gamers who don't pick up MGS4 will have plenty to keep them busy. Weirdos. Here's the full release list:

US Games:

GRID
Kung Fu Panda
The Bourne Conspiracy
Lego Indiana Jones
Incredible Hulk

EU Games:

Lego Indiana Jones
Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit

Asian Games:

EA Forcing High Price For Fifa Street 3 At GAME (News)

EA are forcing GAME to sell FIFA Street 3 (which is release tomorrow - Friday) at a high price point. Reasoning behind this stems from the fact EA is refusing the sell the title to GAME at the lower price publishers usually offer to retail, thus meaning GAME has no other option but to charge the high price point to make a profit on the sale.

Furthermore, GAME will not be supporting the title in-store, refusing to display prominently, only displaying the game on it designated chart position for the week, and not pricing matching on the game due to the possibility of making a loss of the sale.
For all its fancy flicks, deft touches and brilliant goals from impossible angles, it’s not that different from the football you think you’re playing while down the park with mates. Best of all, thanks to revised gameplay and new looks, FIFA Street 3 lets you live out your Kaka-esque dreams without the toe-curling urban ‘vibez’ - and dire MC Harvey commentary - of the ...
It's available on Live Marketplace (and PSN if you're in the US). Or how about the FIFA Street 3 sampler, out for both PS3 and 360. Quite eye-catching with its new stylised cartoon image, although some of you forum goers seem less than taken with the repetitive tricks.
The hard drinking beer beasts at EA Canada have told GamesRadar that FIFA Street 3 is so easy to pick up and play that even gamers with a bladder full of stupid juice will be able to enjoy the urban-themed kickabout without befuddling their inebriated brain. "We had a mantra on the team throughout the project - it was the six beer rule," explained the game's associate producer, Justin Sheffield. "The goal was that the controls, the user interface and all the modes would be easy to ...
Cristiano Ronaldo stops with the ball and eyes his opponent. With a daft flick of the foot he starts to juggle the ball, flicks it into the air and catches it behind his neck. Angry at Ronaldo's showboating, the defender moves in for a tackle. Ever ready, Ronaldo taps the ball into the air and blasts a kick straight into the defender's nuts. He collapses in pain, and Ronaldo moves on down the pitch. Welcome back to FIFA Street.

The FIFA Street franchise makes the jump to Xbox 360 ...

FIFA Street 3 producer explains why the game's only possible on next-gen hardware.

FIFA Street 3 is EA's latest entry in its trick-obsessed arcade football series, but it's only coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Given that the Wii's motion controllers seem a perfect fit for the fun nature of the game, Pro-G asked FIFA Street 3 producer Joe Nickolls why the team focussed on next-gen hardware.

"The horsepower with the new next-generation consoles, everyone automatically assumes the only thing cool about a next-gen console is how cool it looks and the visuals. But really what it is, is the computing power, and the power under the hood of the game," Nickolls told Pro-G.

Electronic Arts has announced development of a third iteration in the popular FIFA Street series, following a special unveiling behind closed doors at the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany last week.

According to the official press release, the game is being developed by EA Canada and will be released for "next-generation consoles" some time in 2008. Substantial gameplay details and other related information have yet to be revealed, however, and it is currently unknown if the game will appear on current-generation machines and handhelds in addition to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

FIFA Street focuses on building up a small group of well-known football stars and earning themselves reputation points by performing a variety of stylistic tricks and manoeuvres. Players must then take these skills to the streets and utilize them to surpass the opposition by competing in a number of local tournaments. Familiar faces in the series to date include David Beckham, Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane.

Stay tuned for more information on FIFA Street 3 as soon as it becomes available.

Electronic Arts has done well for itself with most of its streetball games -- NBA Street and NFL Street both have had a solid run -- but the soccer version FIFA Street hasn't made the same impression. That said, the team is calling up the franchise for a third edition, this time with the power of next-generation consoles providing the power/stylee for what is hoped to be a fresh new start for the series. Get on the ball with the next-gen version of urban footie.
