Electronic Arts Inc. has announced the continued record-setting sales pace for FIFA 10 as well as the development of FIFA 10 Ultimate Team, a game mode expansion and new way of playing FIFA 10 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Based on internal sales projections, FIFA 10 has sold through more than 4.5 million units worldwide since launch, a 26 percent increase over FIFA 09 in the same period a year ago (eight weeks in Europe and five weeks in North America).» Read More

EA's John Schappert has said during an investor call that FIFA 10 has sold more through retail than FIFA 09 has by 31 percent in Europe.
The executive also said it's "outselling Pro Evolution Soccer 4 to 1." This comes amidst EA beating their chest over core IP 'revitalization'.

FIFA's arch virtual football rival PES is "struggling", EA reckons.
Why? According to EA UK boss Keith Ramsdale, it's because 2010 "is very much a FIFA and Call of Duty year".
"We've seen PES come. PES is struggling like most other non-mainstream franchises. This is very much a FIFA and Call of Duty year. There is quality product out there that is failing in the marketplace that at any other time would perform very well. So it's a tough place, but FIFA is a beneficiary of that, and we're really pleased with how FIFA's coming along."

EA Sports head Peter Moore says he's "delighted" to see FIFA 10 making strides in Japan, having been challenged in the past by the insularity and specific tastes of the Japanese market.
He calls Japan "the cradle of our industry," praising the continued creativity of the country's developers even in an era when Japanese design sensibilities appear to be suffering a business decline -- but on his official blog, Moore writes candidly about "frustrations" he has experienced as part of American game companies trying to market to Japan.

Members from TheGamerFix downloaded the patch and have been fine so far, although with that said we have messaged over ten Fifa players on our list and half of them have got back saying the problem is still happening for them...
