Fatal Inertia, the Koei racer that infamously had problems working properly on PS3 and thus bailed ship to 360, is finally coming to Sony's console... as a PSN download. The futuristic racer, which didn't exactly set the world alight on 360, is a bit like Star Wars pod racing through rocky canyons, except with shiny cars and big magnets to shoot at your opponents. And with framerate issues on 360.'Fatal Inertia EX' will land on ...

Speaking to VideoGamer.com, a Koei UK spokesperson has debunked rumours that the recently revealed Fatal Inertia EX - a PSN revamp of the 2007 Xbox 360 racing title - will be heading to Xbox LIVE Arcade.
KOEI has told Eurogamer that futuristic racer Fatal Inertia will be a better game on PS3.
Oh, Fatal Inertia. Once announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive launch title by Koei, the Unreal Engine 3-powered racer eventually went multi-platform and released on Xbox 360 first, while the company struggled to get the PS3 version up to speed. The recent completion of Unreal Tournament III on PS3 means studios should have an easier time developing on Sony's hardware with Epic Games' engine, but that doesn't help the dozens and dozens of companies who have been attempting to make it work now.
Following up on today's in-depth feature discussing Japanese publisher/developer Koei, the firm has confirmed that the PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Engine 3 title Fatal Inertia is still in development, with a '2008' release date anticipated.
Here are the latest scores from Edge magazine for games like Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, BioShock, Stuntman Ignition and Medal Of Honor Airbourne:
Despite several blogs and sites confirming that there's a demo for Fatal Inertia due for PS3 tomorrow, this is not the case at all. There was clearly some confusion from the press release, but the official PR only mentions an Xbox 360 demo for FI, not a PS3 one. Confirmation from Koei that this is indeed the case at the link.
Say what you will about Koei, but their upcoming futuristic racing title Fatal Inertia has been running laps for a long time -- first as a PS3 exclusive, then multiplatform, then canceled for PS3, then canceled altogether (a brief, easily squashed rumor), now back on track for both the 360 and PS3. Not only is the title back on track, but Fatal Inertia is hitting the PS Store tomorrow (or perhaps Thursday if the scheduled updates up to now mean anything at all).
It's a been a strange path. Koei's futuristic racer Fatal Inertia was originally announced as a PS3 launch title. The game missed launched, and Koei later announced that it was going to miss the PLAYSTATION 3 altogether. Instead, the title would be appearing on the Xbox 360. Well! The game is back on the PS3, it seems. Koei Chief Operating Officer Kenji Matsubara took the stage at Sony's Japan press event PLAYSTATION PREMIERE 2007 and showed titles headed for the PS3: Ni - OH, BLADESTORM and Fatal Inertia. Not sure if an official announcement was made or if, you know, Fatal Inertia was just slipped back in. Here's hoping no one notices!
According to a report from SPOnG, Koei is still in development of the Fatal Inertia title for PS3, thereby allaying fears of 'indefinite delay'.
An update to information previously released:
KOEI, recognized worldwide as the premier brand of strategy and action games, today announced that Fatal Inertia is scheduled to ship to North American retailers on September 11, 2007 for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
