Gamervision reports: "Apparently, and this is absolutely a rumor, PlayStation Network title Fat Princess has been delayed indefinitely in Japan. Word is that it was outright banned by the government because of the character design. No, it isn't because of the game's portrayal of women, but because of its portrayal of... hands. Characters in Fat Princess only have four fingers, which apparently rubs some in Japan the wrong way enough to keep the game off digital shelves entirely."

Some people apparently don't take kindly to adorable little cherub-like warriors blowing each other to bits, and blood pooling underneath them. Fat Princess hit the PSN late last week and, as most online games seemingly come across, has had some connectivity issues. Titan Studios announced over the weekend that a patch would be forthcoming, and now it seems the patch has been completed and is in the process of being tested. The patch will fix:

* Failed Game Connections
* Lag
* Hosting Problems
* AoE Scoring Exploits
* Stalemates
* Missing Princess (on certain levels)
* Dead Hat Machines
* Scoreboard Issues (only top 1000 scores shown)

GDC09: Fat Princess offers single-player story, planned for Summer (News)

Additional details regarding Fat Princess' single-player modes have been revealed at GDC. "Gladiator" mode pits you against wave after wave of enemies using a fully-leveled character. "The Legend Of The Fat Princess" is a more traditional single-player offering, featuring a story that explains how cake came to the realm. This mode is more like the multiplayer gameplay you've seen before, but against AI bots.

The developers are aiming for a Summer release, with some final tweaks currently in the works. It's a bit later than the expected February release, but it should be worth the wait.

An anonymous source has told PSNow! that Fat Princess will be released this month on PlayStation Store, along with a demo and new trailer. No word on pricing yet, though.

Fat Princess was announced at E3 2008 in conjunction with other PlayStation Network titles such as Flower or Ratchet & Clank: Quest of Booty. Both games are already available, with Rag Doll Kung Fu releasing soon, so it's very likely to see Fat Princess on PlayStation Store in the near future.

PSNow! is known for discovering the Street Fighter costumes for LittleBigPlanet, as well as the Sackboy DLC for Hot Shots Golf back in December and that has been confirmed today by Sony.

Sony may be planning at least one more PSP to PlayStation 2 port, if a Q1 European release list is accurate. Do you best not to get too excited about the prospect, please.

Last year's Wipeout Pulse may be the latest to jump from the PSP's wee screen to whatever the PlayStation 2 may be connected to, as a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe - more precisely, the Benelux region - release list pegs the port for a February release in the region.

None too surprising, as previously PSP-only titles like Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters have made the transition.

The release date list also schedules the cutesy PlayStation Network strategy game Fat Princess for March. We'd suggest not penciling that one in quite yet, as your region's release date my vary. For the full, rumored release list, read on.

Many of you have been asking us "where is Fat Princess, oh darn it?" Well, looks like it's 2009. First unveiled at E3 this year, the downloadable title earned a lot of buzz (both positive and negative) for its cute, gory, cake-filled concept.

A press release from Epic Games China has officially "announced" the "opening" of Titan Studios, the developer of the upcoming game. There are a few things we're confused by. First, why is Epic Games China opening a studio in Seattle? Last we checked, Seattle wasn't a part of China (unless, that is, the takeover has begun ...). Also, why is the studio being announced now? Maybe that's why Fat Princess is taking so long to develop! The studio wasn't actually official yet!

Titan Studios brings to it developers with experience at companies including Ubisoft, Epic Games, Scion Studios, Blizzard Entertainment and Lionhead Studios. Titan Studios is not only working on Fat Princess, but a number of other Unreal Engine 3 games, including a massively multiplayer online game.

Developed by Titan Studios, Fat Princess is a uniquely-styled multiplayer PSN title that combines elements of the popular Team Fortress with the micromanagement stylings of RTSs and top-down shooters. Neatly rolled into one little package, Fat Princess is a rousing game of Capture the Flag. Two teams will work to protect their "flags", which in this case are actually princesses. Yes, the title has everything to do with the gameplay, unlike certain songs with ambiguous titles. Capturing the princesses won't be so easy, however.
