Speaking to VG247 at Games Convention, Bethesda's Peter Hines has indicated that you may not just be seeing one more Fallout from the publisher: you should be thinking along the lines of EA and FIFA.
Bethesda's Peter Hines has refused to confirm differences made to the Australian build of Fallout 3, saying talk of cuts made to the game to get it passed the OFLC was "presumptuous."
VG247: Bethesda communications boss Peter Hines has shrugged off post-E3 criticism of Fallout 3, saying he's not willing to judge negative previews based on 30 minutes play at the event.
Fallout 3 will be playable for the general public for the first time at the upcoming PAX.
Bethesda Softworks, a ZeniMax Media company, announced today that its highly anticipated title, Fallout 3, will be available on store shelves and online in North America on October 28, 2008 and in Europe on October 31, 2008. Developed at Bethesda Game Studios – creators of the 2006 Game of the Year, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion – Fallout 3 is slated for release on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, and Games for Windows.

Many Aussies were devastated by last month's news that Fallout 3 had been refused classification (effectively banning it from release). There have been several casualties of Australia's archaic videogame ratings system over the years but few have been as highly anticipated as Fallout 3 (picked as IGN's Game of Show at this year's E3). Speaking to retail today we were told that Fallout 3 will be released mid-October with its references to specific drugs altered.

According to EB and Game representatives, Australia will be receiving Fallout 3, albeit in a modified format. The new, friendlier version, will have the drug use removed that saw the game banned initially. Both EB and Game are currently taking pre-orders for the title. One representative from Game, contacted this Thursday night,said that he had read internal communications only an hour before that Fallout 3 would definitely be available this year.
