Eurogamer: "Bethesda Softworks plans to raise the Fallout 3 level cap to 30 in the upcoming downloadable content for the game.
"Along with removing the game's 'ending' with Broken Steel, we figure raising the level cap would allow them to [enjoy the game for longer]. We plan on raising it to level 30 - but it will be a long, hard climb to get there!" the DLC's lead producer Jeff Gardiner told Eurogamer in an exclusive interview today.
Broken Steel will be the third instalment of DLC and is due out in March. The bulk of today's interview - and three new screenshots - concern the first part, Operation: Anchorage, which is due out this month."

Joystiq reports: "Today's Amazon "deal of the day" bombs the prices on several limited edition Fallout 3 bundles. For starters, the Fallout 3 "Collector's Edition" for the Xbox 360 has its price melted by 40% and is being sold for $50.
For those who really want the Vault-Tec goods, Amazon's exclusive "Suvival Edition" has been reduced by $20 for all available platforms ($110 for X360 and PS3; $100 on PC). The main difference between the two bundles is the Survival Edition's life-size replica of the Pip-Boy 3000. Sadly, it doesn't feature built-in GPS or a real-time medical readout like the one in the game."

Bethesda Softworks has announced a new partnership with Connect Entertainment, arranging for its latest bestseller Fallout 3 to be distributed across a range of emerging markets throughout the world.
Released in North America and Europe towards the end of October, the publisher's first venture with the iconic post-apocalyptic RPG licence will now be heading to 19 new regions around the globe on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Gamespy writes: "Thanks to Bethesda's mid-December update to the PlayStation 3 version of Fallout 3, we're able to bring our Xbox 360 achievement guide to PS3 owners. Although much of the text reflects the Xbox 360 version.
As some of you might know, I'm a big fan of the Gamerscore system for the Xbox 360 and Games for Windows, to the point that I often play "less-than-stellar" games just to get those delicious achievements. While that often makes me the target of some (hopefully) good-natured ribbing around the office, it's also given me an innate sense of how to best maximize your ROGT (Return on Gaming Time, for the uninitiated) when it comes to earning achievements and trophies.
In fact, one of my crowning achievements (get it?) was getting the maximum 1250 Gamerscore on Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, a feat which took me somewhere in the neighborhood of 120 sleep-deprived hours."

Japanese gamers are not the biggest fans of Western shooters, but Fallout 3 still managed to rank in the top ten in last week's Media Create sales numbers for the island country.
Debuting at a respectable number 9 with 30,600 units sold, the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3 did pretty well. Knowing that the Xbox 360 install base is limited when compared to the PS3 in Japan, that's pretty good. The PS3 version comes out in January of next year.

The feeling of 'deja vu' is in the air, since this is the fourth consecutive week Call of Duty: World at War remains in the top of the charts.
Activision has hit the jackpot with their "one CoD per year" tactic. The next Call of Duty Modern Warfare title is due to visit us in Fall 2009.
