Win a signed copy of the Spear of Destiny Hint Book

Don’t miss your chance to score this vintage piece gaming history. Enter Now!

Words: Tyler Nagata, GamesRadar US

The Official Hint Book of Spear of Destiny, a Wolfenstein 3D Graphic Adventure is more than your average strategy guide. Sure, there are the usual maps, hints, and cheats. But it’s also a labor of love that’s full of obscure trivia, rare concept art, and personal anecdotes about what it was like to work on the Wolfenstein games at id Software.

Above: Free books rule, especially when they’re autographed by the author. This classic piece of gaming history has been signed by id Software’s Kevin Cloud

Plus, we’ve got the author to sign it, which will automatically raise the book’s value on eBay exponentially. But you’d be a fool to sell this vintage treasure. You see, this book is also a time machine that’ll take you back to the halcyon days of PC gaming, when a handful of creative guys made gaming history with a revolutionary first-person shooter.

That’s right. Flip through these pages and you will literally wake up in the early 1990s. George H.W. Bush will be president of the United States again, data will be transferred via archaic devices known as “floppy disks,” and all the cool kids’ computers will have Wolfenstein 3D on it. Just don’t say we didn’t warn you. If that weren’t enough, we’re also including a copy of The Official Hint Manual for Wolfenstein 3D, which is just as awesome.

Above: We’re also including a copy of The Official Hint Manual for Wolfenstein 3D because we like you so much

damn, why can't these contests be open to canada.....
Ensoul  - 7 months 28 days ago
@King Rupert6
Something about our laws, I've been google-ing and reading what I can find on the topic but it's like 4 AM and I'm tired suddenly. The gist of it seems to be we (Canada) have our own laws governing Contests and Sweepstakes and they (US of A) of their laws. Actually I'm guessing every place has their own laws and dealing with such things. Also we need to know math before we can get free stuff.

It's a little portable time machine to the 90's.. I hope whoever gets the books treats them nicely.

@Ensoul

In short, you are correct. Red tape/laws that prevent us from including all of our readers make my rippling muscles sad.

@hobojedi
yeah, i don't want them to go to somebody who will put them in a closet forever...

If I win, it's going in a glass case up on my mantle. Of course, I'll use it extensively, and do a full walk-through of the game based on the book.

Both of them, excuse me.

Hello fellow Wolf fans. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your favorite Wolfenstein memories with us. All of your funny responses made it difficult to choose a winner. Unfortunately, we are still waiting to receive the signed guide, but our contact at id says they are on the way. There may even be extra goodies for those who entered.
