Why does almost all games have to be released at Christmas? The developers should've realized by now that the more games released at one time, the less the chance of someone buying their game, unless it stabs, shoots, rocketlaunches and owns every other game into such a submission that they will never get up again and fails to even be a footnote in the history of gaming. If a game like that is ever released, I'm going to buy it. But where was I? Oh, yes, launching all games at Christmas is a bad idea. Why can't they plan together to release their games all around year? If a truly awesome game appears every three-to-four weeks all year long, gamers will be in heaven, and the developers will rake in so much cash that they can afford to send all their employees to a four month long holiday in Bahamas.
Mirrors Edge wouldve been a priority for me to buy if it had a decent amount of hours you could sink into it. But considering that the story is supposed to take 7 or 8 hours at most, its not worth $65. I rented it and liked it alot but glad I didnt drop full value on it
I want Mirror's Edge, Resistance 2, and LittleBigPlanet!!! But right now, I'm playing Animal Crossing: City Folk and Guitar Hero: World Tour!! Decisions!!
What's odd is the fact that PC Gamer gave a very high rating to Tomb Raider Underworld, as well as Editors Choice....when the average is around/below 80.....
all of these games, except EndWar, are PlayStation exclusive or have PS3 as their lead platform. I SMELL BIAS. LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2 do not deserve to be in this list
@TheKitchenSink, on the last page:
I think Faith is quite pretty. Not super-hot, but an attractive, normal woman. It's nice that she's not a buxom super-babe--games are overflowing with those as it is.
So why exactly is Resistance 2 on here? Honestly though, it has thousands of people who play it, its got a quite nice storyline in my opinion. But still it doesn't deserve to be on here, as to see how many people went out and bought it during its release.
For all of you who think that Mirror's Edge is short, yes, Mirror's Edge's story is that short. However, the part that consumes the most time is the Time Trial. You will spend far more time in Time Trail then the story. Time Trail is all about getting through the level as fast as possible, and since the most fun in the game is pulling off incredible feats of acrobatics on the spot and doing the craziest things to shave off fractions of a second off your time at break neak speed, then this at least warrents a try.
Mirror's Edge is on the top of my list, then it's COD:WAW. I think that another thing keeping people away from mirrors is that there isn't enough violence in it. Where I live nobody is even remotely interested. They just want to blow things up and kill people. I may be overexaggerating but I can forsee the death of new and exciting games like mirrors in the face of games like cod or gears.
Also, has anybody else notised how hard it is to explain mirrors edge to people. You er... sort of run a bit...er... jump a bit... occasionally hit people,and very occasionally shoot people... er... yeah.
None of these other games are on my christmas list. Oh well.
