Banned in Europe

Manhunt 2, Nazis... and every videogame ever? Read the amazing story of our continental friends

Words: Justin Towell, GamesRadar UK

But none of it compares to Greece. We should thank our lucky stars we get to play our favourite games at all – that's right, Greece recently had  an outright ban on computer games. All of them. In fact, technically it still does.

It all stemmed from a typical political scandal whereby a member of the leading political party was caught on video inside an illegal gambling establishment. After media uproar, all possible methods of gambling were scrutinised and blocked, resulting in all computer games on PC or otherwise being banned.

Of course, this didn't sit well with a lot of people and the law was questioned by the EU before eventually being suspended, with instruction given to the authorities not to inforce it due to it being 'unconstitutional'.

So next time you buy a duff game, at least be grateful that you can.
