"Bandai Namco Games announced that its Xbox 360 RPG Trusty Bell: Chopin no Yume (Eternal Sonata in the US) will be available for PlayStation 3 in Japan in mid-September. More than a year has passed since the game's release on the Xbox 360 in Japan, but the developers have apparently used this time to make significant changes to the game. As previously reported, two new playable characters, a new quest and the option to change a character's outfit had already been confirmed to be part of the PlayStation 3 release's feature set. Further improvements announced today include a new dungeon, a revised scenario with multiple endings as well as new songs by pianist Stanislav Bunin and composer Motoi Sakuraba."
We don't know if it's coming to North America. We're not even sure when Japan will play with Prince Crescendo in combat. It might be soon, though.
"Microsoft fans got to play Eternal Sonata far before their rival PlayStation fans. They were given the opportunity to enjoy this masterpiece of a title in all of its glory. Anybody who has played it would agree that is was not only phenomenal, but also unforgettable. The story was perfect, the art was brilliant, and the score was absolutely mesmerizing. Now it's our turns.

Great things come to those who wait. Eternal Sonata is slated to hit PS3 shelves this year and it's going to be a title to remember. What do the Sony faithful get for the long wait? Two extra playable characters that were mere NPC's for the 360. "
Nov 2, 2007

Something PS3 owners must be getting used to by now is waiting a little longer for games to come to their platform, but in Eternal Sonata's case, the extra wait means you'll get two more characters to play as, which is nice.

As an exclusive treat to PS3 owners, the characters Serenade and Prince Crescendo, who were non-playable characters in the 360 version, will be fully playable. These characters will bring with them new story sequences as well, according to Dengeki Online (via ...
That confirmation came today.

The PS3 version of Eternal Sonata, operating under its Japanese title of Trusty Bell Chopan no Yume, will be appearing at Bandai Namco's Tokyo Game Show booth next week, the company announced today through its Tokyo Game Show special site. The game will be shown in video-only form. A Japanese release is planned for some time in 2008.

According to an interview at the French website Jeux Video, (see the first alternative source below,) the producer of Ace Combat 6 has revealed the possibility of a PS3 version of the air simulation game.

In addition, earlier the official site for Beautiful Katamari listed PlayStation 3 and Wii versions as "TBD" ("To Be Determined,") The website has since then been updated, and the PS3 and Wii listing removed after being spotted and reported.

In a similar fashion, Eternal Sonata (aka Trusty Bell in Japan) is also listed as "TBD" for PlayStation 3 -- but interestingly, no Wii. The unintentional listing has also been discovered and removed.

Altogether which seem to be an interesting coincidence. 1UP speculates that Beautiful Katamari and Eternal Sonata will be announced at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2007, (i.e., the second alternative source below.)

Note: Snapshots of the evidences were taken by Kotaku before the websites changes and are attached below.
It was only a month ago that you were saying you were "not aware" of a PS3 version of Eternal Sonata. Not aware? Someone is, because the game's official listing on the company's site now has the game listed as a PlayStation 3 game. No release date, but it's right there under "platforms". PlayStation 3. Could be a typo, but then, we're only a week and a bit away from TGS. Could also be announced there."

Quote: "According to game site Siliconera, the controller and the graphics made bringing Eternal Sonata to the Xbox 360 a no-brainer. What about a PS3 version? Publisher Bandai Namco told Siliconera that it was "not aware" of a PS3 version at the moment. How could it not be aware of that? It's friggin' Bandai Namco! The Japanese box for Eternal Sonata (AKA Trusty Bell) doesn't have an "ONLY ON XBOX 360" stamp on it. Thus, the game should be treated as such."
