PS3 Fanboy writes: Good grief, where did all these games come from? There's a lot to choose from, especially if you're in the US or Europe. Despite the quantity, there's not a huge amount of overall quality. The only games in the list worth looking at are Overlord, Bourne and Battlefield. Don't be downhearted, Asians. You've finally got your hands on The Darkness. Only a year late, then. Here's the full release list: US Games * Battlefield: Bad Company * Top Spin 3 * Wall-E * Hellboy: Science of Evil * Overlord: Raising Hell * Hail to the Chimp EU Games * Battlefield: Bad Company * Beijing 2008: The Official Olympics Game * The Bourne Conspiracy * Guitar Hero: Aerosmith * Kung Fu Panda * NASCAR 09 Asian Games * Enemy Territory: Quake Wars * The Darkness

This is one of those times where everyone just turned around and went, wait...where'd that game go? It's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and while we heard a whole lot about this promising title late last year, it mysteriously dropped off the radar for a few months. Well, it's back. According to IGN, Activision has finally revealed a release date for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of this promising shooter: it'll hit stores on May 30. The PC version has already been available for quite some time now, so console players have been itching to get their hands on it. If you're not too familiar with the game (heck, you might've forgotten), here's a brief description: Experience the ultimate team and mission-based online warfare, defined by the acclaimed Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, now set in the legendary QUAKE universe. Choose to play as the human Global Defense Forces or the invading alien menace, the Strogg. Each side has distinct classes, vehicles, and weapons to choose from, giving players countless ways to join the battle. With all the enemies, vehicles, and interesting terrain present in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, this could be one of the best console titles of 2008. Of course, the competition will be stiff...but then again, it's always stiff these days. Head back our way again at the end of May to check out our review.

Activision has finally announced a release date for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Both versions will be hitting retail stores on May 30th, 2008.

Activision plans to release playable demos of team-based multiplayer FPS Enemy Territory: Quake Wars for both PS3 and 360. That's according to Greg Stone, designer at Nerve Software, the company handling the 360 conversion. However, nobody's sure whether they will launch before or after the game appears in shops this summer.

Activision's latest quarterly conference call has just been completed and as was the case three months ago during their last conference call, company executives did not mention the previously announced Xbox 360 and PS3 console ports of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars as being part of their upcoming release plans. The ports of the Splash Damage-id Software PC multiplayer shooter were announced a year ago by Activision and a playable version of the Xbox 360 port was shown at both E3 as well as QuakeCon in the summer of 2007. Activision execs also didn't mention today the previously announced new Wolfenstein game that was revealed well over two years ago at a Microsoft press event in the fall of 2005 to be developed by Raven Software.

Dec 13, 2007 Splash Damage's next update for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will include a training mode to ease new players into the multiplayer action. "The single greatest hurdle to ensuring great game-play online is getting new players to understand the basics of team-play, and the subsequent amazing buzz that comes from coordination," the developer says of the upcoming 1.4 update. "The new Training Mode helps achieves this by teaching new players how to make effective use of the Mission
