TheSixthAxis: "Elefunk has landed on the Japanese PSN Store, priced at 800 Yen. We were hoping to see this bridge-building elephant simulator on the European store today, but it doesn't look likely, despite rumours that the title will see a Stateside release later tonight."

Both EchoChrome and Elefunk were previously meant to hit the European PSN Store today, but failed to do so. A cursory glance at the official PlayStation site suggests EchoChrome will land next week, with Elefunk the week after. Let's hope so.

SCEA Reveals More Elefunk Information & Release Date (News)

Today, Sony added a placeholder page on their official PlayStation.com site for Elefunk. Along with a video, they added 3 screenshots and some interesting new information about the game. Sony also for the first time provided a tentative US release date for the downloadable game: June 2008.

Other interesting information is unveiled, such as the online or offline 2-player "Deconstruction Multiplayer" mode - which is essentially Elephant Jenga!

Greg Miller, IGN, writes: "If you thought the Entertainment Software Rating Board was just around to keep little Timmy from getting his hands on the bloodiest games, you're wrong -- it's really here to give us clues as to what titles are coming to the PSN.

The latest ratings from the ESRB include an E for the PSN puzzler Elefunk along with re-ratings of Pandemonium (a 2D platformer rated E) and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (M). Does the fact that these three titles -- one brand new and two PSone classics, respectively -- mean that they'll be popping up on the PlayStation Store sooner rather than later?"

Videogamer: Spring PSN updates to include flOw on PSP and Elefunk (News)

Videogamer reports that Sony has confirmed release dates for a host of upcoming PlayStation Store titles, both for PS3 and PSP via the PC PlayStation Store.

Coming to the PS3 store this month is Pain, followed by Elefunk in April and the wonderful looking echochrome in May. Pain was released on the US PlayStation Store late in 2007 and we're not entirely sure why it has taken so long to get a European release. Those that do pick the game up this month can also look forward to a bunch of new character packs.

Coming to PSP this spring are flOw and Ape Quest. flOw, a PS3 PSN launch period title, will be available for PSP this month and sees players guiding a luminous creature, hunting and eating other creatures in order to evolve. It's peaceful, calming entertainment and certainly worth a look later this month.

Geekpulp writes: "Sony has sent us confirmation of release timing for a few games that were announced last year at E3. Elefunk and Echochrome are the two main items that catch my attention but there is also Flow for the PSP. I am looking forward to Echochrome as I know a lot of people are, there are never enough challenging puzzle games that are so different from the typical falling block games.

Pain is set to be released on the European store (NZ included) this month along with some bonus characters as an expansion. It would be nice if they had released a different map instead of the extra characters as that would increase replayability far more than some new characters."

As we plowed through all the latest assets to come out of last weeks E3 we stumbled across two never-before-seen PlayStation network games. The first of these two games is Elefunk. An original puzzle based game that, from what we can tell, will play in much the same way as Lemmings.
