PS3 Fanboy: "Hardcore SRPG fans love the Disgaea franchise. PS3 owners should be happy to know that the next iteration of the franchise, Absence of Justice, is a PS3 exclusive. Even better than that, the game will launch at $50, instead of the usual $60 we see for most current generation games.

We're glad NIS America is giving us a discount on what will undoubtedly become a cult classic. It may not have the best "next gen" graphics, but at least it's not asking us to pay a "next gen" price as well. We can approve. Expect it on August 26th.

Fans should check out the official site and vote on their favorite songs from the franchise. The top choices will be included in a pre-order bonus soundtrack, making the deal even sweeter."

PSU didn't think it was possible to expand upon a universe that already delivers countless hours of gameplay; however, Nippon Ichi has found a way by setting up a monthly expansion pack for Disgaea 3, through 2008 in Japan. There has been no clarification as to if this will make its way over to the North American or European regions as well, but much like the rest of you RPG-starved gamers, we're hoping so.

Last night publisher NIS America revealed their fall lineup, and for the first time in memory there was a lack of PlayStation support. Instead the company, known for its charming RPGs and affection for hand-drawn anime art over 3D cutscenes, revealed a major push into the Nintendo DS market. Speaking to videogaming247, Koei Europe's admitted it has no clue if Disgaea 3 for PS3 will make it to Europe at all. Koei handles all Nippon Ichi RPGs in Europe. The game was announced for US release yesterday, to be handled by NIS.

Disgaea - the hard-as-hell strategy RPG that won the hearts of tactical gamers back in 2003 and again in 2006 - is finally getting a full sequel instead of more portable ports. Disgaea 3 will hit the PlayStation 3 this summer, bringing in an all-new cast of characters to go with the brand new story and the mostly-new gameplay system (battles are now 3D instead of 2D). NIS Planning New PSP, PS3 Games (News)

According to RPGFan, Nippon Ichi Software's Souhei Niikawa said in a lengthy interview with PlayStation World that fans can look forward to the announcement of various new titles for PS3 and PSP from NIS in the future. Niikawa also discussed the development of Disgaea 3 on the PS3 and the company's plans of expanding into genres other than RPGs and adventure games.

Disgaea 3 Arrange Album, Drama Disc Announced (News)

One week after the January 31st release of Nippon Ichi Software's Disgaea 3 in Japan, Team Entertainment announced a Disgaea 3 drama CD and an arrange soundtrack. Simply titled Makai Senki Disgaea 3 Arrange Soundtrack, the latter will feature 14 tracks arranged by composer Tenpei Satou himself. The tracks on this soundtrack will be extended versions with full chorus. Under the catalogue number KDSD-00192, the album will available in Japan on April 16th for 3,000 yen ($28.05 US).

Carrying the catalogue number KDSD-00191, the drama disc will be available on March 26th for 3,000 yen ($28.05 US).
