PS3 News | Devil May Cry 4
Capcom has revealed a series of brand new characters for Devil May Cry 4, including a buxom female with a serious white hair-do. According to a Babelfish translation of the Japanese website that contains her character description, she's called "Grolier." However, we've heard from a reliable source that she's actually called Gloria - far more befitting of her womanly stature. The translation goes on to say... actually it's funnier verbatim: "Staff of demon sword teaching group, simply the ... » Read More

PS3 - Devil May Cry 4 - Capcom: Why Devil May Cry Is No Longer PS3 Exclusive Speaking to SPOnG, Keiji "the Killa" Inafune (Head of Research & Development and Online Business at Capcom) explains the decision behind moving the Devil May Cry franchise to Xbox 360 rather than maintaining PlayStation exclusivity.

"Until now it's been hard for us to develop multi-platform games, but recently we have developed this development engine that allows us to develop a game in the engine and then put it on to PS3 and 360.

PS3 News from N4G | Devil May Cry 4
PS3 - Devil May Cry 4 - Devil May Cry 4 demo coming for Xbox 360, PS3 not certain IGN reports that Capcom announced that a Devil May Cry 4 demo will be released for Xbox 360 sometime before the game is releasing. The demo that is shown at E3 is completely the same that was shown for the first time in April, so no real new footage of Devil May Cry 4 is expected.

Capcom will be releasing an Xbox 360 demo sometime before the game releases. Capcom is also 'considering' a demo for the Playstation Network, but nothing is certain. A demo for PC is not mentioned. The demo will probably be the same as the E3 demo that is shown in Santa Monica.

More great news about Devil May Cry 4 as Capcom will be showing new levels of Devil May Cry 4 at the coming Game Convention or Tokyo Games Show events. The next demo will also be running on Xbox 360 hardware, in stead of the PS3 hardware where the first demo ran on. A releasedate for the demo or full version of Devil May Cry 4 haven't been given.

PS3 - Devil May Cry 4 - Rumored E3 Demos List Despite the early success of Fight Night Round 3 with Live Marketplace, developers still hadn't been fully sold on the whole downloadable demo idea last E3. Not the case this year, the Hedgehog's got ears on a massive list of demos that'll be landing on Live next week. Fore sure are Ace Combat 6, Blue Dragon, and Mercenaries 2, quite possible are Devil May Cry 4, Tom Clancy's Endwar, and Halo 3 single player demo!!!

Also expect a massive bevy of new games for the Wii to appear at the show; including new ones from Sega, Capcom, and Konami. I guess having no obvious competition in Japan has those developers hifting priorities. Oh dear oh dear, poor Sony! They need big franchises like MGS and FF to hit the PS3 so people will buy them.

Problem is a new rumor states that Square-Enix is actually holding back FFXII until the PS3's install base reaches a more profitable level, classic Catch 22! Finally Ubisoft will be showing off a new Prince of Persia title in limited form next week. Expect to be mesmerized all over again!

PS3 - Devil May Cry 4 - Devil May Cry 4 Delayed Until 2008 Bad news for Devil May Cry fans. The release date for Devil May Cry 4 has been pushed back into 2008. Signs that this might be the case arose on 1up's write up of Devil May Cry 4 - at the top of the page was the date 1/15/2008. Of course this was no confirmation, especially since Capcom have been providing playable demos to gaming websites and events alike. Yet these demos were on the game's original platform - the Playstation 3...

Confirmation comes from Eurogamer's time with Capcom:

"Surely the game must be out soon? Not so. Fans have a further nine months to wait until it finally emerges sometime in "Q1 2008", our Capcom rep regretfully informs us."

So there you have it Devil May Cry 4 won't be hitting store shelves until early 2008. The delay may well be because of the games new mulitplatform status, since Capcom also announced a simultaneous release on the PS3, Xbox360 and PC. Or it could be that Capcom are waiting for the PS3 user base to grow. Which ever reason, hopefully the wait will be appeased by Dant'es and Nero's slick moves.

When you look back at what the PlayStation 2 is, the tone for action-adventure games was entirely set by the original Devil May Cry. The series shaped the very way we think about 3D action, sword fighting, gun slinging and adventure. With Devil May Cry 4 set to hit the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 later this year, the developers at Capcom are banking that they can recapture the lighting in a bottle that made the series such a formidable killer the first time around. Believe it or not, there are people that actually hate it when a company decides to make a good game available to more gamers - as Sony fan boys demonstrated when they went nuts over Devil May Cry 4 coming to 360.
