You read that right. The game hasn't even been out for a couple of weeks yet and they're already talking about sequels. EA Redwood Shores Studio GM Glenn Schofield came out in an interview with Variety about the title's performance and it's upcoming sequel. Well, he brings it up in passing. He is, of course, discussing a possible Dead Space film...

"We're talking with movie studios right now. We have been all along. The difference with this is we need to go in and say, 'This is not a $10 million movie.' Sure somebody could make it, but that's not what we are looking for. It's an expensive movie. By doing this now, we could have a movie that bridges the gap between the two games." --Variety

The quote comes from a full interview discussing the independent licensed titles that are now hitting the market. They also go into and Army of Two sequel.

OK, so after the credits roll, you get a big stack of unlocked gear, logs, and other goodies. The two most gameplay-relevant ones are the level 6 "military" suit--better than anything available the first time you play through the game--and 50,000 credits to spend at the store. Would help soften the challenge of the "impossible" difficulty level that also unlocks, no?

Console Monster reveals EA have warned parents about the content in Dead Space.

"All parents have been there. Letting their children play games which have recieved the 18 certificate treatment, before they are 18. Grand Theft Auto and Manhunt are a few of these titles which spring to mind. With EA's Dead Space being released today, they have released a statement emphasising the 18 certificate while at the same time giving a warning to parents."

Ripten reports that Variety have recently interviewed EA games label president Frank Gibeau and Dead Space executive producer Glenn Schofield, who revealed that there are sequels in the works for some of EA's biggest games. Gibeau stated that there is a "sequel idea planned" for Army of Two and a Battlefield: Bad Company. We can only hope that the sequel for Army of Two is called "Army of TwoTwo (TuTu)". Also mentioned was that a sequel to Dead Space, EA's recently released horror shooter, was already in the works, and that ideas for a Dead Space movie were in the pipeline as well.

Bad news? The controls are 2nd to the worst controls we've seen ever since Path of Neo came to the PC platforms. The smoothness compared to consoles is just not there, and from what we can tell it doesn't seem like a patch can fix most of the issues. Inventory stack access becomes frustrating when fighting with monsters and aiming for on-the-fly changes. The controls just aren't smooth."

Eager horror fans who just picked up Dead Space will find a couple extra goodies of the non-scary kind when they pop the disc into their system. At least on the PS3 version, you get two Blu-ray Disc icons under the Game XMB -- one for Dead Space of course, but surprisingly also one for EA Demos.

Included on the disc are demos for Battlefield: Bad Company and Burnout: Paradise.

CVG: Looking for realism, EA Redwood Shores turned to the dead for help.

EA Redwood Shores came up against this problem making its sci-fi horror game Dead Space. On their first attempt, the team were not happy with their work. So, they decided to take a close look at some real bodies.

Writing for Edge today, exec producer Glen Schofield explains, "In the story of Dead Space, there was a war that happened on the ship before Isaac, the main character, gets there. So he's going to find a lot of nasty stuff, corpses in various states of annihilation.
