I hope it does better than God of War, not because i hate god of war(one of my all-time favorite series), but because it feels good to see a new game do better than an already established series, only to be topple by the next installment. Uness it does better than Halo. Also, there's no good GoW-like game on XBox 360 yet, and this could satisfy my needs. I'm not getting a PS3 anytime soon, not worth it when i have all the good games except for MGS4, LBP, and eventually KH3 and Gow3 on Xbox.

GOW is running itself dry. So for long running fans this will be a taste for something new. So yeah, eviscerate is a good word for it. But will you get to go through purgatory and Heaven also?

definitely sounds great, but i doubt itll "eviscerate" gow. those shoes are mighty huge to fill. still, im keeping my eyes open for this one, as i love both the divine comedy and epic violence in the vain of gow

I don't even like GoW, so I think I'll pass. Too much hack-n-slash for my taste.

AWESOME!!!!!!!! I was wondering how they were going to handle making the poem into a game and the approach really appeals to me. I am so stoked for this game and am finally glad to see some information on it. Thanks Shane! I wonder how the forest of those who committed suicide will play out? Can't wait to see.

GoW will definitly beat this, without a doubt, I also read somewhere that people of the GoW team were working on this game 2, there is your cause. GoW is gonna be better for sure

Lol God of War wouldn't be to hard to top really, I have played the first two and still preferred DMC3 and Ninja Gaiden. This looks a lot more Interesting, though I am not a believer I find Christianity a whole lot more interesting then Greek mythology, the hell whole hell thing fascinates me, would like to see how they depict it, Lol maybe they will throw heaven in there as a final level.

oh no...
i sense a fanboy war brewing...
BUT!
Congratulations on making me care, Shane. I really, REALLY gave this game some epic 'meh's before this and now it's a pretty good sized 'hmmm!!!' instead

so will there be GoW puzzles too?
everything else about this games has been 'inspired' by GoW why not?

I'm currently in the middle of Dead Space right now and am loving it whole-heartedly. If these guys can do for the epic hack-n-slash what they did for the sci-fi survival horror genre, I am SO there!

How it will eviscerate God of War III, that's a bold statement, Shane Patterson. It looks interesting and the prospect of it being based on an actual literary work, a very good literary work no doubt seems interesting. I'll keep watch of this.

Perhaps GR should feel inclined to wait for a final product before shamelessly stating such a bold comment. Not a good idea. Might hurt your credibility. . . like saying Onechanbara was "good".

Looks like a good game, but it will not eviscerate god of war!

I've read the books. It's a great concept. But to me, GoW and THIS are very different.

Hmmm, Beowulf was a great Epic poem too, and we know who that game turned out.

That should be 'how' not 'who.'
