During yesterday's analyst call, Activision revealed a plan to make more money from the COD franchise by selling something called "Day One Advantage" that will buy you faster experience points to use in the game.
Edge writes: "Activision raked in millions in sales with 2007's Call of Duty 4, but the publisher sees more opportunities beyond the retail box with the upcoming sequel.
GameXtract writes "Activision has recently released the box art of the next Call of Duty game, World at War. Like all others in the past the box art shows off various soldiers shooting aimlessly in every direction, and screaming their lungs out. I wonder how long it will take before half of them realize their shooting in the wrong direction. Regardless you can get a full size look at the box art by click the above image. Also to note that this game will be following in the same foot steps as Modern Warfare, and will receive the all mighty M rating."

D+PAD: We've just received word that Call of Duty: World at War will be releasing in the UK on November 14th. Gamers should also keep an eye out on the official Call of Duty website to pick up their "token" for the Xbox 360 beta.
MTV Multiplayer writes: "UPDATE: This story was originally entitled: "Activision Says 'Call of Duty' PS3 Beta Details 'Coming Soon'." But Activision has informed us that their statement may have been premature. All details about any betas for "Call of Duty," including an answer to whether there will be a PS3 beta or not, will be released at a later date."
It looks like there is a double dose of news coming from the folks behind Call of Duty: World at War. Today Activision announced the release date and another special surprise via press release:
If you took today's news at its word, PlayStation 3 owners were being left out of the "Call of Duty: World at War" multiplayer beta.
The first part of that title is purely subjective, but according to the article in the upcoming issue of GamePro that reader Mobius0077 posted in TVGB's Community Discussions area it is entirely true. That's right, the subheader of the article claims that from the time they spent with Call of Duty: World at War it is actually better than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. After reading the article and pretending it wasn't a total fluff piece TVGB can see where they're coming from.
n the latest issue of OXM UK, it is Comfirmed that infinity ward are working on a sci-fi shooter. But does not go as far to say if this game is the next in the call of duty series.

Acti-Blizz has revealed in its Games Convention press conference that actor Gary Oldman will play a Russian sergeant in Call of Duty: World at War.
PCGH says there are no visual differences in Call of Duty 5 between the versions for Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC. They refer to the statement of Cesar Stastny, who is responsible for the development of the PC version.
