Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Also known as: CoD 4

Information is valuable, but like money, it can be counterfeited - a countdown site at www.findmakarov.com got a bunch of press last week when it was initially presumed to be an official Activision teaser for Modern Warfare 3... nope! But check out the neat fan-made trailer inside...

So many puns. Oh God, there are so many puns to make. Be strong, Dave. Think not of "Brown Ops" or "Cack Ops", and certainly do not construct any sentence that makes use of the word "streak". This story is a grim cavalcade of dubious comedy already.

Basically, adult diapers have been found on Amazon.com. And they've been found to be frequently bought with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Because it seems some gamers just refuse to take a break for anything. Even basic human dignity. Don't tell the BBC.

Seven games ranging from Ratchet & Clank to Call of Duty are now part of the PS3's $30 Greatest Hits line. Three are first-party Sony titles, and the other four are some of the system's best-selling third-party titles...

It's been a tough week for Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward. At last count, the departures from the studio behind the blockbuster Modern Warfare 2 total nine [Update: it's actually 13], including some key programming and design people. Kotaku: Intrigue, backstabbing, secret messages and double agents: Reading the world's largest game publisher's counter-suit against the top people in charge of creating the biggest video game franchise in history is like dropping into one of their Modern Warfare video games. Told from the perspective of Activision, the publisher didn't take lightly the firing of Jason West and Vince Zampella. It was, they write in the 23-page lawsuit made public today, a decision that did not arrive at lightly or without good reason. Reached for comment this afternoon, Robert M. Schwartz, the attorney representing Jason West and Vince Zampella, called Activision's take on the increasingly volatile break-up of the game makers and game publishers false and outrageous.
