PS3 News | Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Thursday 21 June 2007 If you were wondering, the new Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare footage has nothing at all to do with WWII. It takes you through a very intense minute on a modern-looking battlefield - and we do mean battlefield. It's clear that there is more than the typical "you and your squad vs the entire evil army" gameplay. Instead of just your squad pushing the battle forward, there is a feeling of combat happening all around, soldiers fighting off in the distance, commands being ... » Read More

We wouldn't have worked on it for seven years if we didn't like it," the developer's president Grant Collier told us in a recent interview, before explaining that he doesn't think the World War II first-person shooter is dead. PS3 - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - COD4 Story info surfaces Some one down at COD4Forums.com has posted a short part of an article on this months UK magazine PSW. It tells about the overall story of the game and how you start out in the game. Makes for a brilliant read; here is a part of the info given:

" we have an opening scene where you are being pulled from your palace in the middle east and see all this crazy stuff going on around you in the back of a car. Your not sure whats going on and at the end of the credits you see a cast of characters. Each of the bad guys have a henchman and we call these guys the four horsemen, the game is all about trying to take those guys down" explains collier. "Then they put you up on a post, Zakhaev gives Al-Asad a pistol and shoots you in the face and that's how the game starts"

PS3 - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Call Of Duty 4- Ragdoll physics confirmed COD4Forums has posted a message from a Infinity Ward developer that seems to explain how they are dealing with RagDoll in COD4.

"I wish I could be there to see your face the first time you see someone die...the death animations STILL make me go "OH S&*T" whenever I see them...and I've been seeing them for over a year. And it was mentioned in a magazine article somewhere so I can talk about it....

...we have a fully realized physics system which includes ragdoll - but you'll never actually notice it because thankfully our ragdoll 99% of the time doesn't look like "ragdoll". If you go back and watch the trailer you'll be hard pressed to pick out a spot and say "that's rag doll" - but it's all over the trailer."

PS3 - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Call Of Duty 4 New Multiplayer info leaked COD4Forums.com have posted some quotes from a magazine that describes new aspects of the COD4 multiplayer game modes.

Here is what to expect:

"- In multiplayer, you get experience points for your persistent character stats. A kill gets you 2 points, a headshot gets you 3 and an assist (wound them but someone else kills them) 1. You'll unlock new ranks, skins for your character and new weapons. The system is implemented so they add can additional unlocks that come with patches.

- In both single and multiplayer there are hardpoints. Points on the map that give you a specific advantage over the enemy. An example that was given: A radio that calls in an airstrike, capture it and a helicopter will appear and attack the enemy with its rockets and machineguns.
After the attack the hard point goes neutral again.

- A new gametype, Realism-Mode. Grant Collier says the mod community had implemented this into the previous titles and now they'll add one themselves. In this realism mode you die from one shot.

- There will be vehicles in singleplayer, but not in multiplayer."

PS3 - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Activision release new info on Call Of Duty 4 Activision release new info on Call Of Duty 4

COD4 Forums has posted what seems to be a brand new Press Release from Activision describing new features and info. Here is what to expect from the press release:

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the most intense, visceral title we've ever created," says Jason West, co-studio head and project lead, Infinity Ward. "The single player campaign is a well-paced, non-stop action experience. As the story unfolds, the player is introduced to new gameplay at every turn ¿ one moment you are fast-roping from your Black Hawk helicopter after storming into the war zone with an armada of choppers, the next you are a sniper, under concealment, in a Ghillie suit miles behind enemy lines, the next you are engaging hostiles from an AC-130 gunship thousands of feet above the battlefield."
