PS3 - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - IW: 1.3 Million Play COD4 on 360 Infinity Ward has revealed that its Xbox Live-topping shooter Call of Duty 4 is attracting "between 1.2 and 1.3 million users every day" just on Microsoft's service ¿ with PS3 numbers "monstrously huge".

Speaking to Eurogamer.net in London last week during the unveiling of the new downloadable maps for the game, producer Mark Rubin revealed that Infinity Ward had been hitting these figures "consistently for the past two-to-three months, Monday through Sunday. It's crazy."

He added: "That's just 360. There's even more on the other platforms [PS3 and PC], but we just don't have the same numbering system. Overall, even without the other consoles, we are beating the competition. PS3 numbers are monstrously huge. No other game has come close, either online current, or total unique users in a day."

PS3 - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Call of Duty 4 DLC Is In Certification And Info On PS3 And PC Map Packs The new Variety Map Pack for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which is scheduled to be released on Xbox Live in the first week of April (3rd or 4th), was sent off to certification at Microsoft today. The map pack is going to be bringing four new maps to the game with the addition of Creek (seen above), Broadcast, Killhouse, and Chinatown, which is a modern-revision of the classic Carentan from past Call of Duty games.

While the maps will be hitting Xbox Live the first week of April, PS3 users will STILL be getting the map packs, however it'll be a little later (21 days later approximately) before they'll be available on PSN for the same price. Right now plans for the PC version are unannounced but we are working to bring PC users the same content in the future, however logistics are being worked out on how to make that happen.
