Buzz! PS3 special edition for Christmas (News)

Eurogamer reports that Sony plans to offer a Special Edition of Buzz! Quiz TV this Christmas on PS3.

Alongside the game, gold-embossed case and wireless buzzers will be an extra 1000 questions to tie brains in knots with. Plus, there's a bonus 500 videogame-themed questions, and a quiz on African wildlife that Ellie should be quite good at.

There's lots of previously-released PSN content bundled in as well, such as four additional characters, Trophies, ten buzzer noises and a Quickstart mode to get straight into the action.

PSBlog: Hey all you BUZZ! fans - the big day is tomorrow! We officially launch BUZZ! Quiz TV for PS3 and BUZZ! Master Quiz for PSP in North America. PlayStation LifeStyle - "Europe is really getting the Platinum trophy treatment. Not only did they get the Uncharted trophy patch about a half day before the rest of the world, they also get the trophy patch to Buzz! Quiz TV first. The latter is partly because this title has not been released worldwide as of yet. You get the point though.

Buzz is a game that is set up like a quiz show. You and 3 other players can play and answer questions from various subjects. You can also create your own quizzes. This game will be released stateside September 23rd."

Buzz Trophies to hit before Uncharted? (News)

TalkPlayStation.com writes:"Dan_relentless, part of the development team for Buzz has spoken on the Official European Playstation Forums. Dan basically said that he aims to launch Trophies for Buzz before Uncharted. He didn't specify a date but 'hopes to beat Uncharted'.

"We've had a couple of last minute bugs, and some tweaks to do. When trophies become involved you have start ensuring that cheating is prevented, or at least made harder, so there've been a few things like that that have slowed things down.

There are downsides to being one of the first Blu-Rays with trophies going through QA, lots of new rules and tests, and we've included online as well, so it's double complicated.

So no dates, but we still hope to beat Uncharted…""

Home space (which he calls the Buzz: Road Show), players will be able to stand on various colored lights to submit their answers, and up to 64 people will be able to play at a time."

SSCE David Reeves has talked about the PS3 trivia title at PlayStation Day in London, claiming it "takes the focus of user-generated content a stage further."

As well as including 5000 trivia questions on the disc, online play across PlayStation Network and the opportunity to download further quiz packs, it will enable would-be quizmasters to create their own questions and share it with the community.

Trivia fans can create their own quiz based on anything they like and upload it to the PlayStation Network, where other users can download it straight into their in-game menu for free.

Buzz! for PS3 and PSP this spring (News)

Sony has told Eurogamer that it's hoping to release the PS3 version of Buzz! Quiz TV at "around the same time" as the newly announced Buzz! for PSP this spring.

Both quiz games are in development at Relentless Software just up the street from Eurogamer and the new PSP version has some interesting multiplayer modes and six new round types with questions covering a variety of subjects.

These include music, celebrities, TV, sport, science, nature, movies and general knowledge, with over 5000 questions in total and around 1000 pictures and videos to help things along.
