PS3 - Burnout Paradise - First Burnout Paradise 2009 content pack detailed criteriongames.com writes:

"We're finally ready to unveil the first in a wide range of new Burnout Paradise content for 2009.

Our first pack of the year will be called Burnout Paradise Party.

Burnout Paradise is an awesome social game, but the action's all online. With Party, we wanted to create something for when all the players are in one place – gathered around a single screen.

Fans of the classic Crash Mode from Burnout 2: Point of Impact will know that this is not the first time we've done something like this. And we hope the response to Party is as warm as it was for Crash mode.

So, if you like to get together and play games, it's time to break out the drinks, party hats and balloons!"

PS3 - Burnout Paradise - Four more Burnout Paradise updates incoming PS3Fanboy writes:

Checked out CriterionGames.com recently? You might have noticed that they've completely revamped the site. Not only does it look swish and sexy, but it harbors some interesting information about upcoming Burnout Paradise content. You know, that game which came out in January but which people are still playing today? The game that's had copious amounts of free downloadable expansions and which was the first third party disc-based title to patch in trophies?

Four new expansions are listed on the "coming soon" section of the new Criterion Games website. While at the moment they're simply numbered packs, they will be unveiled, one by one, over the next four fridays, starting on October 31st. The only other information we're given about these packs is that we expect to see them arrive in Spring 2009. So after all this year's great games are played and forgotten, we're convinced we'll still be playing Burnout Paradise well after a year since release.

We'll keep you informed as and when these expansion packs are unveiled.

PS3 - Burnout Paradise - Playfire.com launches new trophy leaderboard and new site look Today Playfire launched a major update to the PF trophy system. We've overhauled the profile page trophy module significantly. It now functions like an overview and takes up way less profile page space. To do this we've moved all the trophies listed here previously to a brand new trophy cabinet page (but more on that later Wink). In the new module you can find cool stats like your percentage complete for your games and your leaderboard rank (dun dun dah!) plus lots of other cool stats about your trophies.

Click on the cabinet link or on a game title will take you to the new trophy cabinet I mentioned a second ago. It's basically a way to view yours and others hard earned trophies. We felt trophies were pretty important so we dedicated a whole page to them which we even styled like the XMB trophy system with a fully functioning, animated progress bar! Simply click "show all" to view all of your glorious trophies "XMB style".

we've added a brand new trophy leader board that you can use to see how you fair amongst your Playfire friends, fellow countryman and even the global PSN elite!

PS3 - Burnout Paradise - GameStop backlash continues as Halo 3 rep maligns pre-owned game sales In a time when the video game industry as a whole is enjoying record profits month-over-month, you would be hard pressed to find a gaming exec directly asserting an anti-GameStop movement was taking place. Indirectly, however, the evidence is coalescing right in front of our eyes.

Earlier this month, GamePro reported that Criterion Games was releasing a rather robust--and rather free--motorcycle upgrade for the months-old Burnout Paradise. While the upgrade was great for gamers, one source at EA told GamePro that the move was more a counterattack against used game sales, than it was to satisfy fans of the series.

PS3 - Burnout Paradise - Burnout Paradise gets Trophies, but they are not retroactive The version 1.5 patch for Burnout Paradise has went live this morning, meaning that you can now get started on building your collection.

It was thought that the Trophies were to be retroactive, however it has been confirmed on Criterion's website that they are not as it states "Burnout Paradise saves are locked to your profile. We had hoped to use this to retroactively award trophies, but we discovered during testing that this is not possible. You will therefore require a fresh game-save to receive trophies in Burnout Paradise. If you're familiar with PS3 trophies already, you'll recognise that this works in the same way as all other games that have added trophy support post-release".

*Update*

The patch only seems to be live in Europe at the moment, however it has been confirmed it will hit everywhere later today.

PS3 - Burnout Paradise - PS Blog: Day and Night Gameplay for Burnout Paradise Jeremy Chubb, the Producer at Criterion Games posts on PlayStation blog:

"We're working flat out to bring you yet another free content pack for Burnout Paradise – and this one's the Bike Pack!

If you missed our recent posts, we're trying something new with downloadable content this year. We want to completely change the game we brought you back in January with regular game changing updates. That means more than just a couple of cars and a new level.

For the first time in a Burnout game, we're bringing you motorcycles. We've already talked about the 2 bikes available from Day 1 and some of the bike-specific gameplay that's on the way, but there's more to this pack than that. We're introducing night time to the streets of Paradise City and with it, some unique gameplay."
