Conflicting Gamers - Its a bummer Brutal Legend was over looked by so many people, because it really was a good game. But from the moment it was released, it seemed destined to be Bargain Bin material. Jack Black voices the protagonist, Eddie Riggs, a roadie who one day finds himself transported into a fantasy heavy metal world. The game is mostly hack-and-slash action, but its the art design and ROCKING soundtrack that really make this game shine. If youre a fan of Heavy Metal, or just a fan of Jack Black, this game is not to be missed.
Conflicting Gamers - There are two amazing deals going on at Amazon today. Were not sure how long these will last, so its best you act now! Grand Theft Auto 4 is $13.99 for a limited time. Game soundtracks should not be underestimated. The following 10 games are all nominated in the Soundtrack of the Year category for this year's Golden Joystick Awards. Only one of them can win.
CVG: Schafer called me a pr**k, but his game wasn't good
El33tonline writes: Double Fine Productions is ten years old today, July 27th 2010! Ten years ago today, Tim Schafer and some like-minded individuals thought it would be a good idea to start an independent videogame development company, after years of working at LucasArts making classic titles such as Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. What fools.

Speaking at the Develop Conference in Brighton, Double Fine Productions’ Tim Shafer announced four new titles that his studio is working on. The projects for these smaller titles sprouted from the cancellation of an unannounced sequel for Brutal Legend. “Apparently when they said it was a done deal, they meant there was no deal, and we’re done,” said Shafer...

In an intimate interview with Eurogamer, Double Fine Productions’ Tim Schafer talks what he loves, like the film Casablanca and the first time he played Super Mario 64. But he also talks about some of the things he hates, managing to call Activision’s CEO Bobby Kotick ‘a total prick’ and a ‘dick.’
Explicit Gamer: Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock has a new gameplay mode, and it sounds incredibly similar to a game Activision abandoned and then tried to sue.
Double Fine's Brutal Legend is an epic tale of big hair and heavy metal, but perhaps the true epic was the creation and challenging launch of the game, which was hindered by a change of publishers and a subsequent lawsuit. Vivendi Games was Brutal Legend's original publisher, but when Activision and Vivendi announced their merger in 2007, the game didn't fit into Activision's publishing plans. Double Fine learned about the uncertain future of Brutal Legend the same way that most gamers found out.
Just recently Amazon.com discounted PS's version of Brutal Legend even further to under $20. That's more than 50% off regular price and the best price ever available for this fun but extremely underrated game.
