Monopoly out there, as the real estate board game has been entertaining the

BioShock Monopoly board...

BioShock cosplay done at an aquarium is done right

When cosplay is done
right it can be awesome; but when it’s done perfectly, it can be damn near
magical. That’s likely the best way to describe the BioShock cosplay that took
place at Dragon*Con’s “Night at Georgia Aquarium” last week, where group of
Irrational staff members took to the aquarium looking for BioShock cosplayers.
Saying they “hit the jackpot” would be an understatement...

We're a bit heavy on Gamescom news at the moment, so you'll forgive us if we haven't been writing up every press release sent to us by the Department of Really Good Ideas. However, some Really Good Ideas demand that one sets down one's trailer-watching goggles (professional gear only, you can't have any) and strap on a pair of applauding gloves. One person with such an idea is Peter Thiel, whose work you may have encountered if you've ever paid $1 for a Humble Indie Bundle or underbid on a mercifully-unattended eBay action. Thiel is the founder of Paypal, but his next big plan is more ambitious: seafaring micronations, free from the laws or morality of conventional countries. You see where this is going...

LEGO BioShock revealed at Brickworld 2011

I apologize in advance for any geekgasms, squees or embarassing pre-order attempts this headline may have caused, as this is not a post about a new LEGO BioShock video game. In truth, this story is about one builder's efforts to recreate Rapture in toy block form for this week's Brickworld 2011 LEGO expo in Chicago. Yes, it was misleading, but perhaps your'll find it within your nerd hearts to offer forgiveness once you see this epic creation up close...

For two years now we’ve thrown health, sleep and sobriety to the wind in order to bring you GamesRadar’s 24 Hour Marathon! If you’ve missed out on the shenanigans thus far, the point of this video is to make you feel horrible about it. With the exception of StarCraft II, I sacrificed my hard drive to record everyone playing everything with me! Watch dozens of readers intentionally doing the stupidest shit imaginable in Halo 3, Red Dead Redemption, Gears of War 2, BioShock 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Blur, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Modern Warfare 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Uncharted 2. Of all the crap I've done here, this video is the thing I'm most proud of...

Why the BioShock movie was doomed to fail

“I just wanted to make it a movie,” said director Gore Verbinski of his plans for a big-screen BioShock adaptation, “where, four days later, you're still shivering and going, 'Jesus Christ!'” That was Verbinski's goal when planning to shoot Ken Levine's acclaimed fable of underwater Objectivism: make it as scary as the game, or don't bother making it at all. Speaking to movie site ComingSoon.net, Verbinski frames his decision to leave the project as a refusal to compromise on the game's core elements...

2K has announced a fresh and final DLC installment for Bioshock 2. Called Minerva’s Den, the add-on is a stand-alone, story driven campaign that takes the player out of his heavy Big Daddy boots and into the boots of…well 2K hasn’t said yet. However, 2K has revealed that the player – whoever he (or she) is – will again be teaming up with the Little Sisters’ creator Dr Brigid Tenenbaum as they fight to break the grip of an oppressive dictator in a key district of Rapture. Rapture sure likes its dictators, doesn’t it?
