To complement the existing Red Bull Air Race World Championship mini-game, Red Bull will unleash two brand new spaces that will appeal to sports fans and beach bunnies alike. The first, an exhibition of action and adventure sports photographs from Red Bull Illume.

The winning photograph from each of the competition's ten categories is displayed on large illuminate cubes, imitating the real-life exhibit. The second is a Red Bull Flugtag mini-game where users can compete against one another by launching one of five wild flying machines off of a 30-foot high deck in hopes of achieving flight. Think: The Wright Brothers… or that time you and your genius buddies decided to pile into your wagon and take a ride off the roof."

The Ubisoft/Hybride Sudios produced mini-movie Assassin's Creed: Lineage gets its UK TV premier this evening at 9.35pm on Film 24 (Sky Channel 157).

The 36-minute movie will be shown uncut for the first time on UK TV as part of a special episode of Playr, the long running TV show about video games.

The programme, which airs at 9.35pm Thursday 19th November, includes exclusive interviews with the movie's writer and producer as well, as well as an in-depth review of Assassin's Creed 2.

You'll see the tin case is much larger than the original Assassin's Creed Limited Edition, and a comparison shot to the PS3 controller so you can get an idea how big the package is.

Patrick Plourde, the lead designer on Assassin's Creed 2 at Ubisoft Montreal, isn't a big fan of that whole "fail early, fail often" thing, ubiquitous as it may be among game design talks.

"Oftentimes I visit sites like Gamasutra or go to talks like GDC, and one thing they always say, this recent trend -- it's interesting but it doesn't relate to me," Plourde said during a session at the Montreal International Game Summit today, referring to the "fail early, fail often" principle of design.

"There's a stage in the game design process where you need to experiment and not be fearful of failure," he acknowledged, "but at the same time, it leads to a lot of fail."

Gamervision: As you might know by now, Gamervision takes Collector's Editions very, very seriously. You can be sure that at least one person in the office will be picking up one or another, and then chatting about it the following day. What can we say, we love plastic stuff! It's also cool to see developers try and one-up each other, each trying to give gamers more bang for their buck. As of now, the winner is likely BioShock, which came with a fantastic Big Daddy figure for a measly $10, or Modern Warfare 2 with it's night vision goggles, since, you know, they technically have a use outside of sitting on a shelf.

That crown might be shifting, however, since we've been sent some images of the new Assassin's Creed II Special Edition that make it look like the new lord of all things materialistic. Yes, yes, we already knew what was in the box, but the images below give a great sense of scale, and show exactly how awesome the $80 box is.

Ubisoft's Xbox Live-like community toolset, UPlay, is set to launch next week alongside priority release Assassin's Creed II, according to the publisher's CEO Yves Guillemot.

The system, first announced at E3 this year, will encourage gamers to play Ubisoft titles, as the more they play, the more rewards they'll be in-line for.

"We are creating the equivalent of an Xbox Live system, but for Ubisoft games, where when you play you will be able to have a kind of mileage system - that you have for planes or hotels," he explained.

Critical Gamer Writes: There's no new information in this commercial for Assassin's Creed 2, but it still manages to turn the hype knob to 11. Ubisoft still has a lot to prove though, possibly more than any other game release this year. Thankfully, we'll know the whole story in a little over a week, but this video doesn't make the wait any easier.

It's also interesting to note that this commercial pretty much pretends the Xbox 360 version doesn't exist. This isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened, and in fact you'd think the same about the Playstation 3 version of Modern Warfare 2 – still, it's interesting to speculate on what this could mean for differences between the two versions.

ConnectedConsoles: The original Assassins Creed didn't have a public demo which did anger fans and most likely affected the games overall sales. Though if you did play the full game, you would have been impressed. Today however, we can reveal that there will be no public demo (other than exhibitions) for the highly anticipated sequel to the 2007 action-adventure.

Ubisoft has "had discussions" about setting the next Assassin's Creed game in World War II - with a female assassin.

Speaking to Xbox World 360 in its latest issue, producer Sébastien Puel said it would make sense for a Woman to do the dirty work in the female-run economies of WWII-era France and England.

"We've had discussions on that very topic," Puel said when quizzed on the possibility of a female assassin. "It could be really interesting but we'd need to find the right time period and place for that.
