Assassin's Creed, it seems, happens as frequently as sunset these days. With AC: Brotherhood having just been released, only a year after its predecessor, Assassin's Creed II, and God knows how many spin-offs and cross-media titles appearing in between, it now seems that a full-blown AC III might well be confirmed for next year. Don't believe me? Well here's what Ubisoft has to say on the subject...
Ubisoft Montreal's responded to our report that Assassin's Creed 2 was going to be set in the Aztec, stating in an interview that it's always working on new concepts. Speaking to CVG in Rome (see our pretty pictures), senior international brand manager Eric Gallant assured us that Ubisoft's taking the future of the AC series seriously, revealing that it already has people working on the next concepts.
Ubisoft has told us that the lacklustre PS3 port of Assassin's Creed II will not be repeated for Brotherhood.
Last year, Ubisoft launch the critically acclaimed Assassins Creed II in four versions; a standard packaging, limited edition and the infamous White and Black editions. In anticipation of the forthcoming Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, a brand new, high quality collectable figurine of the games protagonist, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, will launch in the UK this September. Based upon his appearance at the conclusion of Assassins Creed II, this collectible figure is fully poseable and features a newly developed head sculpt, highly detailed costume and weapons.
Examiner.com This week's deals are kind of overwhelming thanks to GameStop's Power Saver sales and Toys R Us running a buy one get one 50% off sale. There is a lot to choose from to spend your gaming dollar on but the good news is is that you'll be able to stretch it pretty far.
1up writes: As part of an otherwise unremarkable summary of their sales results for the first quarter 2010 and their plans for the second quarter, Ubisoft has let slip that Assassin's Creed II and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction are to be released on Mac during the second quarter -- so sometime between July and September. Splinter Cell Conviction is perhaps the most surprising (after all, it was famously revealed as a Xbox 360 exclusive) but Assassin's Creed II is notably listed as being released in the EMEA region specifically -- Europe, Middle East and Africa -- meaning that North American Mac users may be out of luck if they wish to experience the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
