You may recall hearing early last year that Sony ceased development on both The Getaway and Eight Days in order to shift resources to projects closer to completion.

Shortly after some test footage of Eight Days was released by a former Sony London employee and today we've revived even more media.

When it was announced that Eight Days was being canceled in favor of Eye Pet, there as a great disturbance in the force felt by hard core gamers all around the world. Many questioned why such a promising title would be canned. Recently some new screenshots have hit the web and is stirring speculation about this title still being in development and reveals an all star Hollywood roster.

On 4th June 2008, Sony cancelled both Eight Days and the ps3 'The Getaway' title. However, Jim Jagger who is (or was) Animation Director on Eight Days has released a demo reel including some examples of his work; and pre production footage of Eight Days features prominently.

Could this be a sign that Eight Days is back in development? Or confirmation that Sony have abandoned the title, leaving Jagger free to do what he wishes with his contributions to the game?

DEVELOP: In our exclusive interview with Shuhei Yoshida, the new head of Sony Worldwide Studios has admitted that Sony's increasing move towards online-supported games lead to the cancellation of its London Studios' Eight Days.

Two weeks ago it emerged that two London Studios big-budget PS3 games, The Getaway and Eight Days, had been cancelled.

Yoshida was appointed as Phil Harrison's replacement as head of Sony Worldwide Studios earlier this year.

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that it has cancelled production on two PlayStation 3 titles that were in development at the Sony London Studio - Eight Days and The Getaway.

A statement from the Corporation read as follows: "It has been agreed that production of both Eight Days and The Getaway will cease immediately due to the redistribution of resources and budget.

"This decision was made following an internal review of all games and it was deemed that with the incredibly strong list of exclusive first party titles coming up both this year and in the near future, resource should be reallocated to enhance those projects closer to completion.

Portuguese website LusoPlay reports that: "Where stops The Getaway 3, or even Eight Days? It should be a question of many fans and beyond. These were two games that caused furor at the disclosure of their video presentation. But a silence pairou on its production.

But now that new information came to the top, and succeeded Lusoplay.com know something more envelopes these titles. The source is safe, so everything is extremely unique.

We know that the month of November will be the month of all revelations, and even prepared a small event for these two games. The PS3 launched this morning in North America. Many of you have been standing in line for hours (some even days) to get your hands on one of the 400 000 PS3s that Sony have shipped to retailers. Though recent reports suggest that the number of PS3s available on launch day will only be 200 000. To make things even worse eBayers have been paying homeless people to stand in line for days making it even harder for real gamers to get their hands the much anticipated next-gen console from Sony.
