Twisted Metal: Head-On

Gamervision: Getting an early look at DC Comics' solicitations for February of next year sure has its advantages. One of them happens to be seeing just what their action figure plans are for the coming months. Well, next July, you can expect some really sweet ass figures based on Sony characters like Nariko and Sweet Tooth. This won't be the first time that DC has plasticized Sony properties. The company's DC Direct branch already has plans for a Resistance 2 line, as well as a series based on Ratchet and Clank. We reported on those a while back, and I'm still looking forward to getting my hands on that Ratchet series this December. Why they're choosing for Nariko and Sweet Tooth to get figures this long after their last respective games have shipped is beyond me, but that's not going to stop me from getting my hands on both of them. That Nariko figure is particularly sweet, what with the flowing red hair and all. Not to take anything away from that Sweet Tooth figure, but I've got enough shirtless male gaming characters wielding knives adorning my desk as it is.

In an interview with GamePro, Eat Sleep Play co-founders David Jaffe and Scott Campbell say that a hint to the studio's next game is hidden in Twisted Metal: Head On. In an interview with GamePro, Jaffe explained: Listen, if you want to know what our next game is, it's absolutely revealed if you have a sharp eye in Twisted Metal Head On: Extreme Edition. It's hidden really, really, really well. And just because it's hidden in Twisted Metal doesn't mean it has anything to do with Twisted Metal. That's why it's so well hidden. It's a really cryptic riddle we put in there. Jaffe and Campbell also sounded off on several other topics, including: God of War 3's development, those one standardized console comments, Calling All Cars, Eat Sleep Play's design focus.

David Jaffe, Co-Founder of Eat Sleep Play, details the extras of Twisted Metal:Head On-Extra Twisted Edition on the PlayStation.Blog: When we were first starting Twisted Metal:Head On-Extra Twisted Edition, one of the major goals was to cram the game with so many exciting features that players would know right away that this was so much more than a simple port. We wanted people to flip the game box over and be floored by how much cool stuff was inside. I love it when I buy a game or DVD and the thing almost FEELS heavier because it's just stuffed with features and bonus content. And that's the experience we've tried to deliver to folks who pick up our new game. Just check out what this thing has.

Dec 4, 2007 And here you thought youd heard the last of David Jaffe, creative director of God of War II and now co-founder of game design studio, Eat Sleep Play (located in Middle of Nowhere, Utah). Jaffe left Sony Computer Entertainment with a multi-game PS3 contract under his belt, but lo and behold - here he is with a PS2 game: Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition. Excessive colon use aside, weve got to question Jaffes enthusiasm for a belated port of a PSP game that came out

Twisted Metal Black II was canned a couple of years ago, but some of its levels are still coming to the PS2, according to David Jaffe's blog. The Eat, Sleep, Play video game designer writes that the PS2 port of Twisted Metal: Head-On will use some of the unreleased game's levels in a bonus feature called Twisted Metal: Lost. Jaffe even included some lost level screenshots. Though the images represent a work-in-progress with red bars as placeholders for things to come, the idea of all-new levels for this PSP-to-PS2 translation makes the title all the more tempting.
