Tony Hawk's American Wasteland

Gaming's best (and only) skateboarding franchise is still the one to beat

PS2 owners get more of the same online goodness they've long enjoyed, offering a dozen games plus a free-skate mode that’s basically a chat session on wheels. Games of King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, and the self-explanatory Slap! are joined by Fire Fight (shoot fireballs out of your board!) and Elimiskate, where the contestants are whittled away a round at a time.

You can also map your real face onto the in-game character via the EyeToy camera or by emailing a photo to Neversoft and then downloading it to your console - that's for PS2 owners only. The controls are as responsive as ever, and the Dual Shock never lets you down. It is, in the best way possible, another Tony Hawk game; everything that worked well before still works now.
