This week, Eidos is releasing to retail the Xbox 360 version of Tomb Raider: Anniversary. And while it typically doesn't take much for the buxom heroine to turn heads of her own accord, Eidos is capitalizing on the increased attention anyway by announcing that Wii gamers will have a chance to go hands on with Lara Croft in Tomb Raider: Anniversary on November 13.
The Eidos executive thinks that the games industry needs more iconic characters to compete with movies, TV, and comics:
Lara Croft (Karima Adebibe) takes a break from promoting the new Tomb Raider: Anniversary game to relax in the sunshine and open Italy's very first women-only beach located in Riccione, an exclusive resort near Rimini on the east coast.
Jim Conrad and Kyle Mannerberg, two of the level designers behind Tomb Raider: Anniversary, talk about what goes into a fulfilling, challenging puzzle experience, and how to best incorporate those experiences into an action/platformer design.
The game, which has versions available for the Sony PS2 and PC, has already begun shipping to North American retailers.
Tomb Raider creator Ian Livingstone revealed that Paramount Pictures are considering whether to make a follow-up to 2003's The Cradle Of Life which would have Angelina Jolie playing Lara Croft once again.
Eidos has confirmed that the PC and PS2 versions of Tomb Raider: Anniversary will be out across Europe on 1st June.
Today Eidos announced Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary will be released on June 5, 2007 for the PlayStation 2 and PC. The PSP version will be shipping shortly after.
