Phil Elliott of GamesIndustry.biz writes:

"An in-game advertising campaign run by Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) last year in two Tom Clancy videogames prompted a 500 per cent increase in activity on the related recruitment web site, it has been revealed.

The campaign, which featured billboards advertising careers at GCHQ in Ubisoft titles Splinter Cell: Double Agent and Rainbow Six: Vegas, ran for a month and was managed by TMP Worldwide, according to a report in Recruiter.

Kate Clemens, head of GCHQ's digital strategy at TMP, stated that she felt the campaign had been successful as a general profile-raising exercise, with traffic increasing from around 500-600 people per day visiting the "Careers in British Intelligence" site to between 4000 and 7000."
You all know Sam Fisher. Muscle-bound guy, voice like a moose with a hangover and one of the leading men in video games thanks to his acrobatic sneaking, versatile gadgets, and witty knifepoint interrogation banter? Well, he's at it again in Splinter Cell: Double Agent. The excellent, albeit very familiar, stealth action gameplay is spiced up by the fact that Sam now has to serve two masters, juggling opposing objectives in order to maintain their trust - and stay alive.

Trust is the crux of ...
When Splinter Cell Double Agent arrives on the PS2, Xbox and GameCube this fall, it'll be a completely different game than the vaunted Xbox 360/PC edition. But that doesn't mean that current-gen console owners are necessarily getting an inferior version; if you've got your doubts, maybe our exclusive gameplay footage will set your mind at ease.

Taken in the early Iceland level, the video shows off lots of cool dynamic lighting on the Xbox version, as well as plenty of sneaking, hacking, ...
Sam Fisher's heading off in bold new directions in Splinter Cell: Double Agent on Xbox 360 and PC, but the current-gen hardware just isn't strong enough to support his open-ended new adventure. So instead of simply trying to strip down the big, open battlefields and daylight runs of Double Agent for the PS2, Xbox and GameCube, the developers took an unusual route: make a whole new game.

The current-gen Splinter Cell: Double Agent shares its next-gen cousin's plot - secret agent Sam Fisher goes ...
As the latest Sam Fisher adventure sneaks towards its September release, Ubisoft thought it would share a few more visuals of Splinter Cell: Double Agent.

Double Agent is, of course, the game where Sam Fisher goes bad, but only because he's trying to do good. He's infiltrating a terrorist group in order to take them down from within, but to earn their trust he has to behave like a criminal.

The game will feature all the high tech gadgetry and stealth aspects from previous games, but you'll be ...
Splinter Cell shares the spotlight with Metal Gear Solid as the other major force in stealth-action gaming - and the more realistic one of the two. It's also maturing as a franchise. Sarcastic middle-aged super spy Sam Fisher has only grown more short-tempered in each of the series' first three entries. Meanwhile, the Splinter Cell gameplay has in turn expanded to a more open-ended, replayable experience that culminated in last year's Chaos Theory.

In Chaos Theory, Fisher's character was much ...
