Welcome to a special week of Game Music of the Day! All week we'll be sampling some of the creepiest tunes I've ever heard, beginning today with a track from the wholly excellent Silent Hill 3 soundtrack. Known for his moody, disturbing use of audio, Akira Yamaoka created several standout songs that managed to be beautiful, haunting and catchy all at once , so picking just one is rather difficult.

A cult is most commonly defined as a religious group that preaches unorthodox believes, granted a lesser state of credibility than "real" religions and are often derided for their extreme practices and viewpoints. Ostensibly, the difference between a cult and religion is popularity. So there, that's a nice inflammatory lead into the main article.

It's about cults in videogames. Enjoy!

Sony seems to be on something of an HD remake kick lately. This week finally brought us long-awaited confirmation that the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection will head our way sometime next year; with last year’s God of War Collection and the upcoming Sly Collection, that brings to three the number of classic PS2 series Sony’s retrofitting with 1080p visuals and Trophies, before re-releasing as budget-priced PS3 games.

This is a trend we can really get behind; as much as we love our old PS2 games, we can barely stand to look at them anymore. Give them a makeover so they don’t look crap on our new TVs, though, and we’re all over them. With that in mind, here are a few other series from the last generation we’d love to see resurrected for the modern age of HD consoles...

We’ve murderised millions of men, killed countless cuddly animals and run over a nursing home’s worth of OAPs. But nothing has ever unhinged us like the computer crappers in the following beastly bathrooms. Unhygienic, grim and often smeared in the sort of bodily fluids you’d associate with Kill Bill rather than the can these are the filthiest game bathrooms we’ve ever seen.

They can be creepy. They can be disturbing. They can obviously be gross, gory and gruesome. Are videogames, however, really that scary? Do they truly, honestly frighten you? We don't think so, and here are 13 reasons why.

This week marks two important milestones for GamesRadar: the start of Halloweek, a weeklong series of horror-centric features, and the two-year anniversary of our weekly Top 7 lists. To celebrate both at once, we’ve dredged up the original Top 7 article - back from before we had our formula down and our shit together – and updated it with fresh art, better layout, a few revisions and videos that actually work.

Theres more to the Silent Hill series than most people realize. If you play through it and take everything you see at face value - assuming that the writhing flesh sacks are just writhing flesh sacks - then youre missing out half the experience. Each game in the series revolves around psychological themes and everything your character witnesses, from bubble-headed nurses through ghostly apparitions to rusty wheelchairs, are all there for a specific reason, conjured up by the evil-infested town.

The Internet is a scary place. Yeah, we know that sounds a little weird coming from the online publication, but when you think about all the content that people like you are putting up; pictures of cats posed in a hilarious fashion, “jackass” videos where guys set their friends on fire and oh so much porn, it can be a little much at times. Oh, did we say scary? We meant really awesome. Where else would we see so much deprived video content for free? Basic cables got nothing compared

Psst. Wanna hear a secret? You havent seen everything on the PlayStation 2. We know, we know. You used to rock Vice City and own Silent Hill. But tell us, sir. Did you find everything? Are you one of those masochistic collectors who loves to explore every nook and cranny in a game before setting it aside? If so, my hats off to you, young lad. If not, go away kid, you bother us. Everyone else, sit down and check out some of these hidden goodies from the PlayStation 2s golden years. Oh, the

The Silent Hill series It's a safe bet that we all play games the same way: lights on, volume at a reasonable level, perhaps other stuff going on in the background as well. For most games, that's totally cool. But there are some that you have not even begun to experience. Yes, some games demand that you completely alter your surroundings and let the mood seep through your skull, soaking every cell in your body with excessive atmosphere. So, we mined our collective memories and came up with
